Good day all. One of the things we’ve seen during the Great Panicdemic of 2020, is which governors abused their authority and basically tore up the Constitutions of the Untied States and of their own states. One of the worst was the Govno of Michigan, Wretched Gretchen Whitmer.
She couldn’t wait to all but declare herself the absolute monarch of the State of Michigan and rule by decree. Her orders were so egregious that people started flat out ignoring them and also backing up their refusal to follow her orders forcefully. The State legislature, controlled by the GOP tried to reign in Her Majesty, but didn’t have the votes to override her vetoes. This led to a petition drive using a law that allows the legislature to bypass the governor. It appears that sufficient signatures have been gathered. Here are the details from Just the News:
A petition drive in Michigan that attempts to repeal a law allowing many of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s coronavirus executive orders has enough valid signatures to send the matter to state boards, then legislature.
The state’s Board of State Canvassers is set Thursday to hear the petition and send it to Michigan’s Board of Elections for approval.
If the board, made up of two Democrats and two Republicans, recommends certifying the petition, the matter goes to the state’s GOP-led legislature, which is expected to adopt and enact the repeal of the 1945 Emergency Powers of the Governor Act, and avoid a Whitmer veto.
It will be interesting to see if the two Democrats are actual Democrats or the more modern version of the party, CommuNazis. I’m not sure what happens if there is a tie vote. I don’t expect the two Democrats to try and play games. From what I’ve been hearing, the people of Militiagan are rather angry right now. Besides, Her Royal Highness, Wretched Gretchen, has her own minions to fight for her ability to rule by decree.
Keep Michigan Safe, a group dedicated to protecting the governor’s executive powers to keep people safe during the coronavirus pandemic said they would try and stop the repeal attempt.
“We’re disappointed, but we will make our case to the Board of Canvassers and the courts to stop this ill-conceived and irresponsible petition drive,” group spokesman Mark Fisk said.
Keep Michigan Safe is not interested in keeping the people of Michigan safe, they are working hand in glove with Wretched Gretchen to keep keep her imperious ass in power and the people in chains. The petition drive, apparently successful, not gives the legislature, which is not happy with Wretched Gretchen, the authority to pass the legislation removing her emergency powers without worrying about her vetoing the bills.
I would day that Michigan is about to return to the side of Freedom in the next few weeks or so, and Wretched Gretchen is going to throw one of her hissy fits and try and ignore the will of the people and the legislature and continue ruling by decree. She might as well, she’s probably going to be bounced out of office in the next election. To that I would say, goodbye and good riddance.
