Democrats subverting the Federal Elections Commission

Good day all. The Federal Elections Commission, (FEC), was set up following the Watergate scandal. It was meant to handle campaign finance laws and violations thereof. It has 6 members on it, 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats. This balance was designed to protect those accused of campaign finance violations from partisan members abusing their authority.

By and large, it has worked fairly well over the decades, but recently, the Democrat members have been trying to rig the system in their party’s favor. Here are the details from The Political Insider:

Imagine you are accused of a crime. Fortunately for you, the jury rejects the prosecution’s case. But the judge disagrees with the verdict. He pretends the jury has not reached a decision, and announces that the trial will continue, but no sign of when. Sound fair?

How does the word NO! sound?

Incredibly, something like this is happening at the Federal Election Commission. The FEC’s Democrats are regularly refusing to dismiss complaints and notify respondents that they are in the clear when the commission has voted not to prosecute.

This is a violation of due process norms and suppresses lawful free speech about politics and issues.

So, the Standard operating Procedure for the Democratic CommuNazis then. The author of the piece, Bradley Smith, goes into the how and why of the creation of the FEC.

When Congress created it in the 1970s, lawmakers gave the agency sole responsibility for civil enforcement of federal campaign finance laws. It understood that the power to regulate political campaigns and speech could become a dangerous partisan weapon.

In my opinion, it’s also rather questionable constitutionally. Something about the 1st Amendment?

As the late Democratic Sen. Alan Cranston noted, this would prevent the FEC from becoming “a tool for harassment by future imperial presidents who may seek to repeat the abuses of Watergate.”

These days, that would be the Democratic CommuNazis. Rigging elections, suppressing the vote, taking money from foreign governments, fixing it so there was no way to validate where campaign contributions came from, little things like that.

This structure means that some votes end in 3-3 ties. With no majority to prosecute, the commission has historically recognized that a tie goes to the speaker, and voted to “close the file,” effectively dismissing the matter.

But the commission’s three current Democrats — Ellen Weintraub, Shana Broussard, and Steven Walther — are now often refusing to close files after losing a vote to prosecute. Broussard, the chairwoman, has further ruled that four votes are required merely to close the file. (In fact, the law specifies which matters need four votes, and closing a file does not.) Since the file is not closed, no one — not even the respondent — is notified that the case has been effectively dismissed.

I would say that this goes against both the spirit and the intent of Congress when they set up the FEC. It also set up things so that the original complainant can sue their targets since they can say that the FEC has refused to act on the complaint. (Move forward or close it) Those that were the targets, not knowing that they are now free and clear, censor themselves thinking that their actions may have been illegal when they aren’t. Since most of the complaints these days are by Progressives against anyone who is conservative or a Republican, you can see where this is going.

This is the epitome of bad government.

But the three Democrats are making it worse: They are also refusing to allow the FEC’s attorneys to defend the agency’s decision in court, an action which does require four votes.

Since the FEC can’t explain or defend its decision, the court issues a default judgment against the commission. The Democratic commissioners are effectively committing a fraud on the courts, making it appear that the FEC has not acted when it has.

So far only Weintraub — who has been serving as an acting commissioner since her appointed six-year term expired 14 years ago (the Democrats have refused to nominate a replacement) — is willing to publicly defend this practice.

How the Hell is she allowed to get away with staying on a job that, technically, she’s not entitled to be in? If her term expired, and I don’t know the exact process, she needs to either be reappointed, or go sell hamburgers somewhere. If the Commission doesn’t have the full 6 members, then they can shut down until the party in question, (The Democrats), get off their dead asses and do their flipping jobs.

She claims she is “just trying to get the law enforced.” What she means is simply that the Republican commissioners have disagreed with her over whether certain behavior actually violates the law.

One of the things I wasn’t aware of, was that the Democratic CommuNazis, in their drive to institute single party rule and subvert the Constitution, was that one of the sections in the HR1 and S1 election theft bills they’ve been pushing, is a major, structural change in the Federal Elections Commission. The change is designed, surprising no one, to benefit the CommuNazi party.

Democrats in Congress are trying to pass H.R. 1/S. 1, which would reconstitute the FEC as five-member commission, with a majority appointed by President Biden. If this is how Democrats act on a bipartisan commission, imagine the abuses of power that would come from a partisan FEC majority.

I don’t have to imagine the abuses. We’ve seen past commissioners, all Democrats, trying to use the Commission’s authority to rig elections in favor of the Democrat party. In the past, Progressive members wanted to flat out censor web sites sites as this one, as well as larger, better known sites that basically lean towards the right side of the political spectrum. What’s happening now is just the latest in a long line of tyrannical actions by the Progressives in their never ending quest for absolute power.

It may now be the time to look at dissolving the FEC and repealing most, if not all of the post Watergate laws. As it is, these laws are being slowly ruled unconstitutional and eventually will reach the point where the FEC has nothing to do.
