Good day all. The Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, has been out of office for 6 months. Lori Lightfart has been Mayor of Chicago for over two years. Since she took office, her ineptitude and mindbogglingly incompetence has seen a massive surge in crime in the Windy City. So, of course, She blames it all on President Trump.
Chicago, like most cities run by Progressive Liberal Mayors, is experiencing a massive crime wave. This is happening because the blithering idiots have been gutting their police departments. Chicago is no exception. Lori Lightfoot is also well known for blaming everyone else for her on incompetence. Now she’s blaming it on a man who isn’t even in office. Here are the details from Newsmax:
After blaming former President Donald Trump for Chicago’s violence, and pleading for people to “acknowledge” a “surge of violence” in her city, Mayor Lori Lightfoot told Newsmax the data is trending down, calling a question about a crime surge “insulting” and the questioner a “failed political candidate.”
“It is incredibly gratifying to have a partner in the White House who understands the appropriate and unique role that the federal government has to play in public safety at the local level; for four years we were ignored, over and over again,” Lightfoot said about Chicago’s crime surge during her Friday evening briefing, which came after meeting with the Chicago City Council that was spurred by Newsmax questioning one week ago. “I started raising these issues from the moment I became mayor. We needed more help from our federal partners.”
I seem to recall that President Trump offered federal help to all the cities experiencing problems, (Which happened to be the ones run by Democrats. Funny that, isn’t it?), and was flat out refused by people like Lightfoot with a list of insults thrown in for good measure.
Lightfoot, whose facts on Trump were false, praised President Joe Biden and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for assisting on “crime gun” seizures in the city, noting a dangerous July 4 weekend to come.
“This is a very challenging weekend, historically, going back decades,” Lightfoot told reporters, suggesting the “six hours of questioning” in a City Council meeting was untimely and potentially taking away from crime fighting for the dangers of the weekend ahead.
An aside. This story came out on Saturday, July 3rd and I’m just getting to it. As to the rest of her lies, first, Chicago is basically a constitution free zone and the only people allowed to own guns are police, “Special privileged politically connected people” and criminals. The average citizen is generally denied their 2nd amendment rights, however that might change with the cases coming up before the Supreme Court next year)
“Every single day the men and women of our police department are under danger,” she added. “We’ve seen an unprecedented level of people shooting at the police, last year and still this year.
And every day you throw those very same officers under the bus for political expediency. Morale in the Chicago Police Department pretty much mirrors that in other cities, such as Minneapolis. It’s less then zero.
“Yes, we’ve made progress this year. Not enough. No one can be satisfied until we see dramatic drops in homicides and in shootings.
Progress? What progress? As far as I can see, things are getting worse, not better. Reading further into the story, it looks like the reporter for Newsmax, William Kelly, was having none of Leadfoot’s misrepresentations of the truth. In the original article he wrote, basically called out Lightfoot for denying reality and substituting her own.
Kelly noted Lightfoot’s selective use of data comparing 2020 during George Floyd rioting to 2021 and the fact Lightfoot this week denounced criticism of her handling of Chicago’s crime telling local news: “99.9 percent of the criticism” is because she is “a Black woman.”
Of course Lunkhead Lightfoot screamed “RACIST!” to any criticism of her reign of error as mayor of Chicago. The problem with that is that many Black Americans and hammering her as well.
“Do you honestly believe that?” Kelly asked. “The City Council of Chicago is obviously made up of many Black women who criticize you.
“Do you really believe the criticism of you is 99.9% based on the fact you’re a Black woman?”
The back and forth between the two went on, with Lightfart finally blaming everything on President Trump.
“But what you don’t have the right to do is make up facts,” Lightfoot continued, despite her misrepresentation of “fact” on Trump not helping Chicago for July 4, 2017 weekend. “We did not have race riots in our city last year. That’s just wrong. And it’s incendiary.”
Lightfoot then went after Newsmax.
Lightfoot proceeded to attack Newsmax, suggesting criticism of her was incendiary.
“Now, I know that’s what Newsmax likes to do, but I’m not going to let you take liberty with the facts, not in front of me,” she continued. “You’re not going to get away with that.”
The problem with Lightfoot, among many, is that she is delusional. Newsmax, like many conservative news sites knows that they will be attacked for “Not having the facts,” or “Making things up.” This is why they come armed with the very facts that Liberals and Progressive refuse to accept. Why do the refuse? It makes them look bad.
At the end of the press conference, Lightfoot did circle back to the wave of shootings and violence in her city, deflecting “accountability” from herself to others.
“I am concerned about shootings every single day,” she said. “I go to bed thinking about it. I wake up in the morning thinking about it and making sure we’re doing everything we can to keep our community safe.
“Fundamentally, here’s the issue: There’s too many guns and too little accountability. It’s up to all of us, not one person.
First, it isn’t “To many guns.” That’s the typical Progressive response to anything. It’s to many criminals with guns and not enough good guys, (And girls), with guns and training to shoot back. Someone should explain to Lightfart that emulating Jake Blues isn’t going to work.
I have a suspicion that Lori Lightfoot is going to be a one term failure mayor. All it will take is someone with any level of competence who doesn’t look like a prop from the movie Betelgeuse. If she gets reelected, then as far as I’m concerned, Chicago deserves everything they’re going to get, nice and hard.
