Good day all. Thanks to the incompetent mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, the city is a virtual war zone. The number of people getting killed and wounded is escalating daily. Lightfoot’s answer is the standard Progressive response, “To many guns! Ban Guns! End the 2nd Amendment!” Now a new statistic is out. The number of police verse the Gang members.
Thanks to both some police acting badly, and the stupidity of the Democrat run cities, (Such as Chicago), police morale is in the toilet and they are quitting in droves. Now the Chicago PD is outnumbered 10 to 1. Here are the details from Fox News:
Amid nationwide calls to defund police departments and a rise in crime in major cities, the number of Chicago cops that have retired this year has already surpassed all of the retirements in 2018 and are on track to be the highest number in the department’s history.
The figures come from the police pension board, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. It shows that between January and June, some 363 officers called it quits, and another 56 were expected to retire this month.
“We are on track, I believe to have one of the highest retirement numbers in the city’s history,” Ald. Ray Lopez told the newspaper.
Does this really surprise anyone?
Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera, citing Superintendent David Brown and Mayor Lori Lightfoot’, wrote that the city’s roughly 117,000 gang members outnumber the city’s 13,000 police officers by roughly 10 to 1.
“To me, the miracle in Chicago isn’t that 11 were killed this weekend and 19 the weekend before, it’s that it was not worse than that,” Rivera later said to Fox News Digital, elaborating on his earlier comments.
He blamed the push to keep police officers from enforcing the law for enabling the type of environment that leads to 117,000 gang members like in Chicago.
“All you can do with this defund the police nonsense is ignore the fact that you are essentially assigning a third-world existence to a huge segment of the population all in the name of anti-racism,” Rivera said.
Oh it’s worse then that. Thanks to both Illinois and Chicago’s rulers, the law abiding citizens are basically forbidden to own guns and use them to protect themselves and their families. The criminals, of course, have no problem getting guns.
Meanwhile, Fox News’ Gianno Caldwell, a Chicago native, said residents are losing trust in the leadership of Mayor Lori Lightfoot as well as in city officials’ ability to protect its residents.
Losing trust? You mean she still has some trust from the people she has been screwing over since day one of her maladministration?
Police leaders nationwide have said they are struggling with the increase in shootings and homicides. They’re grappling with retirements and fewer staff and a difficulty in recruiting officers to help push back.
In areas where the Democratic CommuNazis rule, police morale is nonexistent. They’ve had it and are quitting. In other areas where Republicans administer things, there are issues, but it isn’t anywhere near the levels in cities like Chicago or Seattle. Of course, in those places, citizens can and do buy guns and they do shoot back ant the criminals.
President Joe Biden on Monday met at the White House with urban leaders — including Eric Adams, the heavy favorite to be the next mayor of New York City — to tackle increased shootings, as Democrats warily watch a surge across the nation.
I’m sure Dementia Joe is going to be a real help to all the mayors. He has just one answer in situations like this.
Though limited to what can be done at the federal level, Biden promised to support efforts on the ground to combat crime.
“We know when we utilize trusted community members and encourage more community policing, we can intervene before the violence erupts,” the president said.
That was just another Bidenism. He has no idea what to do. He’ll just spout off whatever is on the the note card he’s handed.
After the meeting, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown tweeted, “we need a sense of urgency right now so we can save lives and serious consequences for those driving gun violence in our cities.”
Do you really want to know how to handle this? Step one, everyone involved in the fiasco, starting with Mayor Lori “Shrunken Head” Lightfoot needs to resign. Second, declare martial law in the city and send in the military. (This will require the suspension of Posse comitatus of course) Third, start rounding up these gang members and putting them into prison camps. The rules of engagement for the soldiers doing this will be simple. Any resistance shall be met with lethal force. Nuking the city will be an option.
The meeting was the second in just three weeks. Big city mayors and lawmakers have sounded the alarm on the rise in crime, believed partly fueled by destabilizing forces of the pandemic, and polls suggest it is an increasing matter of concern for many Americans.
The main cause of this issue is Democrats, Progressives, Liberals and idiots. (But I am repeating myself) When the problems started last year, the correct answer would have been to break some heads. Instead, you have prosecutors who won’t prosecute, unless it’s someone who acted to defend themselves, then it’s throw the book at them.
Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better,, and that’s if they do get better. We may soon see the rise of organized vigilantes who decide that the only way to rid the cities of crime is to hang the criminals. Civil rights? Due process? Juries? That will be a thing of the past for anyone caught in the act. Justice will be swift, certain and fatal.
What worries me is it won’t end there. The next step these group will see as needed will be dealing with the liberal’s favorite phrase, “Root Causes.” They refuse to see that the root cause of today’s crime problems is the Progressive Liberals and their policies. They could find themselves being strung up next to the criminals they have been, basically, protecting.
No, the best way to deal with this is remove the moonbats from office, put in tough, hard nosed people who will not tolerate the crap groups like the ACLU, The DNC and Obama judges have been pushing. Catch the criminals, try them in court, and if/when a jury convicts them, put them in a deep, dark hole and forget about them.
