Good day all. When President Bumbles Dementia bugged out of Afghanistan, he abandoned possibly thousands of American citizens, not to mention who knows how many legal resident aliens, to the tender mercies of the Taliban. Now this prize winning putz is doing it again.
Currently, tensions are in low earth orbit with regards to a potential war between Russia and the Ukraine. The State Department has been evacuating the embassy staff, and announced that Americans should get out while the getting is good. Now Dementia Joe has announced that if Americans get trapped, they can forget about the maladministration sending in any help. Here are the details from Newsmax:
President Joe Biden urged Americans Thursday to immediately leave Ukraine, as Russia’s live-fire drills and build-up of troops around the ex-Soviet state deepened fears of an invasion.
This is just a standard warning when there is a potential for war or terrorist attacks in a country Americans might be visiting.
“American citizens should leave now,” Biden said in a pre-taped interview with NBC News.
“We’re dealing with one of the largest armies in the world. It’s a very different situation and things could go crazy quickly.”
It was at this point that President Foot in Mouth basically told anyone still in the Ukraine that he wasn’t going to lift a finger to rescue them.
Biden reiterated that under no circumstances would he send US troops to Ukraine, even to rescue Americans in case of a Russian invasion.
“That’s a world war. When Americans and Russians start shooting one another, we’re in a very different world,” he said.
With regards to the Ukraine, we have a complicated mess made far worse by the flat out incompetence of the maladministration and the mental incompetence of Dementia Joe. This situation should never have gotten so far out of hand, and probably wouldn’t have if the Greatest President of the 21st Century were still in office.
Biden’s remarks were released hours after Russia rolled its tanks across Belarus for live-fire drills that drew an ominous warning from NATO and added urgency to Western efforts to avert war on the continent.
One of the problems now is that Putin sees just how weak Biden is. Even if he were removed from office, either through resignation or under the 25th Amendment, that would mean we would be stuck with President Heels Up Harris. While she isn’t senile, she is utterly incompetent and not that smart. With either one of those two in office, thing can and will spiral completely out of control. As to what Russia and Putin want? Well, eventually to rule the world. For now?
Russia is seeking written guarantees that NATO will withdraw its presence from eastern Europe and never expand into Ukraine.
Most of the old Warsaw Pact, once the Soviet Union went the way of the Dodo bird, joined up with NATO to keep the Russians from trying to reassert their domination over them. The Ukraine has also been looking to join, but has been stalled in their application for…reasons.
The United States and NATO have officially rejected Russia’s demands.
Washington has however floated the idea of the sides striking a new disarmament agreement for Europe — an offer viewed as dramatically insufficient by Moscow.
There are so many little details and nuances here that it’s hard to count them all. First, The Ukraine, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, ended up with a large stockpile of nuclear weapons. They were convinced to give them back to the Russians. As I recall there were implied promises that we would defend them. (These were Clinton promises so, of course, they were meaningless) Next is simple history.
Russia has been invaded three times in the last 200 years from the West. First by France under Napoleon, then twice by the Germans. The vast distances and the Russian tactic of Scorched Earth, (Not to mention the stupidity of Hitler in WW 2), broke the western armies. (The Germans in WW 1 did manage to collapse Czarist Russia, but didn’t make it to Moscow)
That the Russians are paranoid about defending themselves is a massive understatement. One of the reasons the Czars conquered the Ukraine, (Along with keeping control of Eastern Europe after WW 2), was to give them plenty of space to soak up invading armies.
If the Russians do invade the Ukraine, they will probably take the country. Holding it may be another matter, and the Ukrainians intend to make the Russians bleed for every inch of ground. This is the last place you want to be if the shooting starts. This is why the initial warnings were made to any Americans to leave.
The issue is President Bumbles Dementia telling Americans that if, for whatever reason, they get caught behind the lines, to bad, so sad, we’ll see about a nice funeral for you. Instead he should have flat out told Putin that we will do whatever it takes to rescue our people. Under President Trump, this would have meant something. Under Bumbles Dementia? Putin is laughing in his borscht. I really didn’t want to live in interesting times, thank you very much.
