Good day all. This story just broke. Mark Houck, who had been charged with violating the FACE act when he protected one of his children from a crazed abortion activist back in 2021. A jury has reviewed the evidence and formally acquitted Mr. Houck of all the bogus, trumped up charges.
I haven’t written about this case but was aware of it. It was one of the cases that Merrick Garland’s Department of (In)Justice has started bringing against anyone who dares stand int the way of abortion. (And a lot of other things as well) Now he is a free man. Here are the details from Fox News:
A jury has reportedly acquitted Pennsylvania pro-life activist who was accused of allegedly pushing a Planned Parenthood escort during a clash outside an abortion clinic, Life News reported.
From what little I’ve read, the incident took place up the street from the clinic, not in front of it.
Mark Houck, 48, faced charges that he violated the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which makes it a federal crime to use force with the intent to injure, intimidate and interfere with anyone because that person produces reproductive health care. He pleaded not guilty.
I have some serious questions regarding that law and it’s constitutionality, but that’s something for another day and probably best handled by a member of the lying legal profession.
The charge stems from an Oct. 13, 2021 incident in which the Biden Administration alleged Houck assaulted and “forcefully shoved” Bruce Love, a 72-year-old volunteer at a Philadelphia Planned Parenthood.
Apparently, it didn’t actually happen that way and Mr. Houck wasn’t the aggressor. In fact, the local police and DA looked at the case and didn’t see any reason to press charges against Mr. Houck. However, in the Garland/Biden DoiJ, examples must be made.

Houck was arrested in his home by multiple FBI agents in September 2022.
From what I read, the FBI didn’t send a few agents out, they sent out a heavily armed SWAT team. I suspect they were looking for any reason to massacre the entire family. As to the actual incident that led to the arrest and attempted railroading, here is what I have from CBN News:
As CBN News has reported, the government’s case against Houck stems from a minor altercation he had with a volunteer at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Philadelphia in October of 2021.
The indictment against Houck claims he “assaulted” the man only “because Bruce Love was a volunteer at the abortion clinic”. But according to Houck’s family representative Brian Middleton, that’s not what happened.
Houck was at the abortion clinic praying and ministering within his legal rights (on the sidewalk, not clinic property) when, according to Middleton, it was Love who approached Houck’s 12-year-old son and began unleashing a string of vile comments, cursing the young man. That’s when Houck intervened and eventually pushed Love in order to protect his son, causing Love to fall to the ground. Then the police were called but they eventually decided there was a “lack of evidence” of an assault taking place and declined to pursue the issue any further.
Love filed a criminal complaint against Houck, but failed to show up to any of the court hearings, prompting the judge to dismiss the case.
You know, if you file criminal charges against someone, the courts do expect you to follow up and make an appearance. After all, one of the tenets of the American Legal System is the right to face your accuser. If your accuser can’t be bothered to show up, then the courts are going to assume that whatever this was about probably wasn’t all that important.

However, the radicals in the Department of (In)Justice don’t seem to care that there was no actual evidence against Mr. Houck, and, in fact, there may have been evidence that this Love guy was the aggressor and attacked Mr. Houck’s son.
Then, six days after the case was dismissed, Houck received a target letter from the DOJ notifying him he was the subject of a federal grand jury investigation.
That had to come as a surprise, since no federal laws were actually broken. (See recent acquittal) Mr. Houck’s lawyer, once the grand jury indicted him, (Probably thinking he was a ham sandwich or something), offered to have Mr. Houck surrender himself to avoid any potential issues. The Feds never responded since they were looking for a fight. The rest, as they say, was history.

As to what happens next? Well, Mr. Houck and his family will be celebrating the good judgment of the jury. As to whether or not he can take any sort of legal actions against the Department of (In)Justice and, I have no idea, but I doubt it. However, this does show where the priorities are for the most corrupt Attorney General we’ve had in who knows how long?
We have seen dozens of attacks against churches, family clinics that help women who decide not to have an abortion and threats against members of the Supreme Court. Garland needs to be removed from his position and the DoJ flat out gutted and rebuilt from the ground up.
