Good day all. The collapse of the Southern border and the wave after wave of invading criminal aliens has stretched the resources of cities and states to the breaking point. Now, New York is about to throw homeless veterans out into the streets in favor of Illegal Aliens.
Needless to say, this is so wrong it isn’t even funny. People have had it with the maladministration and a number of Sanctuary Cities putting the criminals ahead of their citizens and lawful resident aliens. Now New York is about to shaft those who gave their all for this country. Here are the details from the New York Post:
Nearly two dozen struggling homeless veterans have been booted from upstate hotels to make room for migrants, says a nonprofit group that works with the vets.
The ex-military — including a 24-year-old man in desperate need of help after serving in Afghanistan — were told by the hotels at the beginning of the week that their temporary housing was getting pulled out from under them at the establishments and that they’d have to move on to another spot, according to the group and a sickened local pol.
“Our veterans have been placed in another hotel due to what’s going on with the immigrants,’’ said Sharon Toney-Finch, the CEO of the Yerik Israel Toney Foundation.
Toney-Finch, a disabled military veteran, created YIT to raise awareness of premature births, as well as helping the homeless and low-income military service veterans in need of living assistance.
In short, this is what is called a Non-Governmental Organization, or NGO. In the “Olden Days” they would be called a private charity. They also, unlike the bureaucrats and political hacks, know how to get things done, and that’s what’s happening.
“One of the vets called me on Sunday,’’ she said.
“He told me he had to leave because the hotel said the extended stay is not available. Then I got another call.
“We didn’t waste any time,’’ the advocate said.
“That’s when we started on Monday to organize when and where to move them all.
“I am glad you called me today,’’ she told The Post.
“Last night, I was crying.”
Reading through the story it looks like this is being caused by the “Usual suspects,” at the federal, state and local levels. Just like Afghanistan, where that crooked, senile pedophile bravely ran away and abandoned hundreds to thousands of Americans to the tender mercies of the Taliban.
Toney-Finch said 15 of the veterans got the heave-ho from the Crossroads Hotel in Newburgh about 60 miles north of New York City in Orange County — a new epicenter of Big Apple’s migrant crisis since Mayor Eric Adams began bussing Gotham’s overflow there against local officials’ wishes.
Do you know what the answer to this is, at least for the local officials? Send them right back to New York City and dump them right in front of Adam’s home.
Toney-Finch said the veterans had originally been set to temporarily stay at the three hotels for up to four weeks, till permanent housing for them could be found. The vets were about two weeks into their hotel stays when they got the boot, she said.
“Now we have to work from ground zero. We just lost that trust [with the vets],” the organizer said.
I don’t blame the charity, it’s obvious they were caught by surprise just like the people they are helping. I blame the A.W.F.U.L. (Alcoholic, (Or Angry if they don’t drink), White Female Urban Liberal), Govno Hochul, who is the apparent cause of this mess. While looking up the correct spelling of her name I ran across this gem in Politico. It looks like she signed an executive order to house the criminal aliens in hotels that were being used to house the homeless Veterans.
State Assemblyman Brian Maher, a Republican who helps rep Orange County, said, “Shining a light on this is important because we need to make sure these hotels know how important it is to respect the service of our veterans before they kick [them] out of hotels to make room.”
“They really ought to think about the impact on these people already going through a traumatic time,’’ he told The Post.
“Whether you agree with asylum-seekers being here or not, we can’t just ignore these veterans that are in our charge that we are supposed to protect: the New Yorkers and Americans.”
First mistake here is that these criminals are not asylum seekers. Oh they do claim that since it’s an automatic release into the United States. Almost none of they qualify for asylum, but the idea, provided by those who want to see open borders and the end of the United States, (George Soros), is to have illegals claim they are seeking asylum to prevent them from being summarily booted out of the country.
Thanks to the Biden maladministration, the United States is beginning to turn on itself in a dangerous way. The original “Plan” was to swamp the Red States, such as Texas with illegals with the eventual idea of making them Democrat Voters. Then the Red States started fighting back and shipping the criminals to the Progressive “Sanctuary” cities and states. Now that those places have to “Put up or shut up” as it were and they are now trying to dump the criminals on other locations.
Adams began bussing migrants flooding the city to The Crossroads on Thursday — hours before a key federal immigration-rule change was set to take effect and feared to increase the influx even more. Hizzoner’s move spurred a vicious war of words between Adams and officials in Orange and neighboring Rockland County, where the mayor also has threatened to bus migrants — till a lawsuit at least temporarily blocked the move.
It’s now reached the point where locals that are told by the courts to accept these criminals are going to refuse those court orders, or worse, citizens may just take matters into their own hands. Putting illegals ahead of American citizens is not the way to get people to follow the courts.
Maher said it’s outrageous that veterans are getting caught in the crossfire of the migrant crisis.
“For these people only being there a few weeks, then to be told after having a level of trust developed, ‘Hey, you have to get out,’ That’s not right,’’ he said.
We need to help these people, and that is what the Yerik Israel Toney Foundation was trying to do. They were stabbed in the back by the Progressives locally and the Biden Maladministration federally. Now they are scrambling to help the Veterans abandoned by the Democrats…again.
