Forget Puerto Rico, how about Alberta as the 51st State?

Good day all. It’s no mystery that a lot of Canadians, primarily in the western provinces, have just about had it with the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, aka Castro’s Bastard Child. Trudeau has basically gone full tyrant on the Canadian people, and far to many of them are of the “Well, ok then, ay?” variety.

The western provinces, especially Alberta have had it with Trudeau and Ottawa’s trampling of people’s civil rights. Now there is a group in Alberta that is looking at having Alberta secede from Canada and apply to the United States for admittance as the 51st State. Here are the details from Fox News:

An advocacy group in Alberta, Canada, is trying to educate residents of the province about what it argues would be the benefits of breaking off from the country to join the U.S. as its 51st state.

“I find myself having an affinity toward the U.S. more than Canada because of the freedom, Constitution and just the entire republican system versus the monarchy here, which is really a pseudonym for dictatorship,” a source with the Alberta 51 Project told Fox News Digital.

Founded in 2022, the project is “dedicated to supporting education to all Albertans on why we should become the 51st state of the United States of America,” according to its website. About one-fifth of Canadians in various provinces believe they would be better off under the U.S. government, according to a poll done by Research Co. earlier this year.

Canada’s current population is around 32 million people. Now I suck at math, but my guesstimate is aboot 5-7 million people are ready to tell Trudeau and Ottawa to take a long walk off a short pier. (For the math heads out there, feel free to comment on what the real numbers may be)

The source who spoke to Fox News Digital did so on condition of anonymity amid what he described as the increasingly authoritarian tactics of the Canadian government, which he noted has arrested Christian pastors and targeted its political opponents by freezing their bank accounts during last year’s trucker convoy protests.

There is no question that Trudeau is a totalitarian thug, and that Canada is rapidly sliding to dictatorship. The problem with the Canadians is that they have a tendency to just drop their pants, roll over and take it up the…

The source said that the project rolled out in response to online chatter among disaffected Albertans who wished somehow to secede from the authority of the federal government in Ottawa, which he noted is in the eastern part of Canada and exhibits a mindset that often diverges from that of Canadians in the more conservative western provinces.

“Albertans have a real affinity with the land, and they have that cowboy spirit, that Indian spirit, that oil-and-gas rigger spirit,” he said, adding that many Albertans have a desire to be left alone by the government.

Yeah, that’s not going to happen. The one thing that Progressives, Liberals and Democrats, (along whatever party Trudeau belongs to), have in common is a desire for absolute centralized control of everything. In their minds the people exist only to serve the state and the ruling elites. What they might want doesn’t matter.

We are seeing this in the United States, however we have something available that the Canadians gave up. The right to keep and bear arms. We have a lot of people, and this is moving towards the political center, who think the time is approaching to open the 4th box of Liberty.

On the state level, we have several secession movements gaining strength, however these are local to the states and are people and areas that either want to break away and become separate states, or join with neighboring states that more reflect their beliefs, ideas and ways of life. A good chunk of eastern Oregon wants to break away and join up with Idaho for instance. (And might just be able to pull it off)

“That’s not really a Canadian governmental kind of thing,” he said. “Basically, in Canada, you have a socialist-style system, and that socialism is kind of like a bad disease that just keeps getting worse and worse as time goes by.”

Well you had better understand that if you do break away and join the United States, one thing that is going to go bye bye is your government centralized healthcare. You’ll need to buy your own insurance.

“We wanted to dare to poke the Canadian identity bear,” he said. “When Trudeau came in, he said some years ago that Canada doesn’t have a culture, they’re not different. So, they use that for globalism and what they call ‘multiculturalism.’ So, they kind of pooh-pooh any Canadian identity – with the exception of Quebec, of course; don’t touch the sacred cow.”

Quebec is an interesting case. They are a former French colony and has repeatedly looked at seceding from Canada. The Canadian government has basically bent over backwards for the province. Of course, people who do the math have looked at Quebec and figured out they would economically collapse in pretty short order. Just the same, if Alberta were to successfully secede, Quebec would be the next to go.

The source said Trudeau’s assertion was insulting to Albertans as well as many traditionalist Canadians who live in Saskatchewan, eastern British Columbia and even westernmost territory Yukon, whose worldview he likened to rural Americans in states such as Montana and Texas. He also said that the rich natural resources of Alberta and similar provinces have been unfairly siphoned by other parts of Canada since the provinces were established.

That is one of the major issues for these provinces. Trudeau has been shutting down production of these resources, and, as the source remarked, basically stealing the profits from what is actually produced to support his friends and cronies in the East.

“Trudeau, at heart, is a fascist; he’s a communist at heart, he’s a globalist,” the source said, who maintained that the prime minister “will never be held to account” because his administration also appoints the country’s judges.

From what I’ve been reading, those judges have been trampling the rights of Canadians who dissent from Trudeau’s rule. We have a similar group here. We refer to them as Obama judges, and now Biden judges. They flat out ignore the law and the Constitution in their rulings.

Peter Downing, a former officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) who founded the separatist movement “Wexit” — a play on “Western Exit” — in the wake of Trudeau’s 2019 reelection, told Fox News Digital that Albertans increasingly began looking toward their American neighbors amid the Canadian government’s crackdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trudeau and the Ruling Elites of Ottawa, like their totalitarian minded Progressive Liberal Democrat Govno’s and mayors used the Great Panicdemic to suppress the rights guaranteed under the Constitution to suppress the American People. (There are any number of court cases that are looking to block any attempts to reimpose the lock-downs and other mandates)

“We don’t tolerate it,” Downing said of Albertans’ attitude toward government overreach, adding that most people in the province do not adhere to the “socialist environment” of Ottawa.

Actually, you do. Canadians are more supportive of government telling them how to live their lives then most Americans. Granted, the western provinces are a bit more wary of the central government, but not to the point you see Americans, who have a history of flat out ignoring Washington’s diktats.

“The die is being cast right now, and it’s about seeing who blinks first, whether it’s the provincial governments or the federal government,” Downing said. “For the folks in Alberta, we’re at a precipice of our own where we’re not going to allow this to continue.”

While I don’t follow Canadian politics all that much, I am aware that the Alberta provincial government isn’t all that thrilled with the diktats and commands coming from Ottawa and Trudeau. The question now is, what are they going to do aboot it ay? (Like my Canada speak there?) I have little doubt that if things really start moving forward on a secession movement, to the point that it looks like it will succeed, that Trudeau won’t flat out declare martial law and start rounding people up out there.

Even if he doesn’t and Alberta does announce that it is leaving Canada and wants to become an American State, there is the question of Dementia Joe Biden and the United States Congress. I don’t see Biden or the Democrats letting Alberta, and potentially one or two other Canadian provinces become states. Assuming that the majority of people up there join the Republican party, or vote for Republicans, it would mean 2 more senators and a few more members in the House.

The Democrat’s grip is already slipping in a majority of states, and the ones they still control are seeing major declines in business and population as people vote with their feet and leave. (Or vote to join neighboring states) The only way they might allow it is to make Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia states. Of course, there are some problems with that. The Puerto Ricans have said they like things just the way they are, and there is no way that D.C. can become a state under the Constitution. (Despite what the Democrats say)

Frankly, I don’t see a secession movement in Alberta succeeding. As mentioned above, if they were to try, Trudeau would simply send in his storm troopers and arrest everyone and declare martial law. If, somehow, Alberta and one or two other western provinces did secede and join the United States, it would be the end of Canada. Quebec would go next and what was left wouldn’t last long. Still, I think this might make an interesting story for a fiction writer to put together. We shall see what happens.

Greetings from the Great White North AW,
It is true there are many disaffected Albertans, and it is true that the current Provincial Govt is “anti-Trudeau/anti-Ottawa”. However, Alberta has doubled its population in the 25yrs since I emigrated here. A great majority of that population growth came from easterners moving west, coming to make money in a thriving economy. Much like your Californians who flee to states like Texas and Florida, they brought their voting habits with them. Alberta has an election on Monday May 29th. The choices are between the United Conservative Party (UCP) and the New Democratic Party (NDP). The UCP currently forms govt, and will continue to be “Alberta first” – supporting our energy industry, pushing back against over-reach from Ottawa, and joining with other Western Provinces in combatting Trudeau’s ruinous policies. The NDP in Alberta is a subsidiary of the Federal NDP (a national party). The NDP wallows in climate change and would phase out our abundance of coal, oil and natural gas in favour of “renewables”. They are fully on board with Trudeau’s policies, particularly the “Just Transition” – look it up, it’s a doozy! They are the party of defund the police and wokeness in the classroom.
On May 29th a decision will be made by Albertans. The coin is currently spinning in the air and it alarms me that I don’t know which side will come out on top. I live in Edmonton, a cesspit of govt workers which has been an NDP stronghold for quite a while. The rural areas reliably vote UCP. Calgary right now appears to be in flux, but they voted in an uber-woke mayor recently…..so there’s that. I believe that you are correct when you say you don’t see a secession movement succeeding, but you might want to check the interwebz on Tuesday to see what direction Alberta is headed in. The choice seems obvious to me, but these are interesting times, aren’t they?
Keep up the great work, all the best!
