Good day all. The United Nations was formed at the end of World War Two to try and prevent World War Three. For most of it’s history, it did just that. Then the Soviet Union collapsed and the risk of all out nuclear war receded. Unfortunately, The United Nations didn’t. Now they are trying to make themselves the “World Government” and telling people how they should live.
The UN is now firmly under the control of kleptocrats, human traffickers, child groomers and over-educated elitists, mostly from Europe who have nothing but contempt for the average person, and generally despise the United States, all while holding out their hands for more American taxpayer money.
The contempt most Americans have the UN is well known. The calls for the United States to pull out have been going on for decades. With the UN’s actions during the Great Panicdemic of 2020, that contempt broadened. Now the UN has decided that Americans are eating to much meat and should stop. Here are the details from Fox News:
A lead United Nations agency overseeing food and agriculture policy is expected to issue a road map in the coming weeks which will call on the West, including America, to dramatically reduce its meat consumption.
The UN’s Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) will publish its so-called global food systems’ road map during the upcoming COP28 climate summit in Dubai which will kick off on Thursday and extend nearly two weeks until mid-December. FAO’s first-of-its-kind document will recommend nations that “over-consume meat” to limit their consumption as part of a broader effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Bloomberg reported.
Yeah, I can tell you how that’s going to go over in the United States, or anywhere else in the world.
“The failure of leading meat and dairy companies to reduce emissions underlines the urgent need for more policy focus on the food and agriculture sector,” Jeremy Coller, the chair and founder of the FAIRR Initiative, an investor network that works with financial institutions to promote climate-friendly agriculture worldwide, said in a recent statement.
“Food system emissions deserve a place at the top of the table, alongside energy and transport, as they represent an estimated third of greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of methane,” he continued. “Investors hope the first-ever publication of a food and agriculture road map at COP28 this month will catalyze the transition to 1.5 degrees and a more sustainable food system.”
Well, it looks like this useless idiot is talking about cow farts. As to “Transitioning to a more sustainable food system,” these morons, if they got their way, would insure mass starvation. The United States is the most efficient food producer on Earth. This include meat. Beef, chicken, pork, etc. In fact, as I was working on this post, I was enjoying a nice piece of chicken, and I have some venison the Angry Brother gave me the other day. (He blew away Bambi’s mom, his dad and has Bambi in his sights)
In addition to issuing guidelines for reducing meat consumption in the West, the FAO is expected to highlight how farmers should adapt to “erratic weather” and tackle their emissions produced from food waste and use of fertilizer, according to Bloomberg. The recommendations, which the U.S. COP28 delegation may sign onto, will not be binding.
Of course it won’t be binding. Any treaty would have to be ratified by the Senate, and it won’t even be submitted. I have little doubt that Biden’s handlers might try to force this on Americans. They will fail, again, as usual. As for the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization, they’re just a pack of over-educated elitists who wouldn’t know a disk harrow from a shovel, and they probably wouldn’t know how to use a shovel if it were handed to them.
The UN has, for years, called for individuals to ditch animal-based diets, which it says “have a high impact on our planet.” Instead, individuals should choose plant-based foods, according to the UN, which can reduce a person’s annual carbon footprint by up to 2.1 tons.
This whole “Carbon footprint” thing is nothing more than a load of crap being pushed by a bunch of people who see this whole Climate Change thing as a means to acquire absolute power. The one thing these clowns never speak about are carbon sinks. What are carbon sinks? Those are trees, plants and vegetables. Agriculture requires carbon dioxide. CO2 is plant food. Besides, people like having a baked potato and corn on the cob to go along with their steak.
“America’s farmers and ranchers are climate heroes, reducing emissions while providing abundant and affordable food, fiber, and fuel,” House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., told Fox News Digital in a statement.
“Regulating producers out of business in the U.S. will not effectively address global climate change, but export production to foreign countries with hostile regimes and worse emissions profiles while harming food security and affordability. Simply put, the world needs American farmers and ranchers more than the UN,” he added.
According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, U.S. farmers are getting more than three times the production compared to what they put in. And emissions have significantly declined in pork and beef production.
American farmers and ranchers are the most efficient and productive in the world. The United States can produce enough food to feed almost everyone on the planet. The UN? All they produce is hot air, and huge amounts of air pollution from all the small corporate jets they use to fly to expensive resorts for “Special” conferences. Speaking which.
In May, meanwhile, Thompson joined a group of fellow House Republicans in rebuking President Biden’s special climate envoy John Kerry over his comments singling out food emissions. They called on President Biden and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to disavow the comments which were delivered at the Department of Agriculture’s AIM for Climate Summit earlier that month.
“A lot of people have no clue that agriculture contributes about 33% of all the emissions of the world,” Kerry remarked at the time. “We can’t get to net-zero, we don’t get this job done unless agriculture is front and center as part of the solution. So all of us understand here the depths of this mission.”
“Food systems themselves contribute a significant amount of emissions just in the way in which we do the things we’ve been doing,” he continued. “With a growing population on the planet – we just crossed the threshold of 8 billion fellow citizens around the world – emissions from the food system alone are projected to cause another half a degree of warming by mid-century.”
John Forbes Kerry, AKA “Liveshot Kerry, AKA Captain Ketchup, is many things, none of them a positive. He believes himself to be part of the “Ruling Elite” and acts as such. He has absolute contempt for “The little people” and always has. What he is, is a gigolo who married money because he didn’t have any.
He also, like the United Nations, has no idea about agriculture. For him, like the elitists in the UN, as long as the tables of free food arrive for them as they confer on their next “Report” then everything is fine. If their ideas, if ever put into force, cause starvation? Oh well, these things happen. Please pass the caviar.
That last bit might seem to be a bit hyperbolic, and it might be just a bit over the top, but not by much. The UN Bureaucrats who come up with these proposals have literally no experience in producing food. These are the same type of people that used to come up with “Five Year Plans” in the old Soviet Union and the People’s Republic of China under Mao and all the other Socialist and Communist countries.
None of those countries were ever able to feed themselves and relied on the American, Canadian and I believe Argentinian farmers and ranchers to supply the food they needed to avoid mass starvation and a revolution that would have seen them all hanged.
This call for Americans to stop eating meat is going to be ignored. Any attempt by the Federal or State governments to try and impose something like this won’t end well for the officials pushing it. Being removed after the next election would be the optimal method, but non-optimal solutions could also happen. As for the UN? It’s long past time the United States pulls out and boots them from their headquarters in New York.
