Schumer and McConnell are pulling a “We have to pass the Bill to know what is in the Bill” scam

Good day all. Nancy Pelosi was noted for her remark regarding Obamacare stating “We have to pass the bill in order to know what’s in the bill.” The reason she said tis is that the Obamacare bill was massive and Pelosi was trying to ram it through before anyone really know what was in it.

As it turned out, Obamacare was an outright disaster for most Americans. Now we are seeing a repeat of this with regards to the Senate’s border bill. Both Schumer and McConnell are trying to ram it through the senate before anyone has a chance to see what a load of dogs droppings it is. Here are the details from an editorial in the Federalist by Senator Mike Lee:

Yesterday, a reporter standing outside the Senate chamber told me that after four months of secrecy, The Firm™? plans to release the text of the $106 billion supplemental aid/border-security package — possibly as soon as today, February 2nd.

Wasting no time, she then asked, “If you get the bill by tomorrow, will you be ready to vote on it by Tuesday?”

The words “hell no” escaped my mouth before I could stop them. Those are strong words where I come from. (Sorry, Mom.)

The reporter immediately understood that my frustration was not directed at her. Rather, it was directed at the Law Firm of Schumer & McConnell (The Firm™?), which is perpetually trying to normalize a corrupt approach to legislating, in which The Firm™?:

  1. Spends months drafting legislation in complete secrecy
  2. Aggressively markets that legislation based not on its details and practical implications (good and bad), but only on its broadest, least-controversial objectives
  3. Lets members see bill text for the first time only a few days (sometimes a few hours) before an arbitrary deadline imposed by The Firm™? itself, always with a contrived sense of urgency
  4. Forces a vote on the legislation on or before that deadline, denying senators any real opportunity to read, digest, and debate the measure on its merits, much less introduce, consider, and vote on amendments to fix any perceived problems with the bill or otherwise improve it.

This, sadly, is standard operating procedure for the Deep State Uniparty. Some of the details of the bill have come out and it’s really bad. I expected nothing else from that corrupt, treasonous scumbag Schumer, however I didn’t think Cocaine Mitch McConnell had completely lost his will to be reelected. One of the things I heard about this bill is that it will let 5000 illegals cross into the United States before any actions are taken.

Whenever The Firm™? engages in this practice, it largely excludes nearly every senator from the constitutionally prescribed process in which all senators are supposed to participate. By so doing, The Firm™? effectively disenfranchises hundreds of millions of Americans — at least for purposes relevant to the legislation at hand — and that’s tragic. It’s also un-American, uncivil, uncollegial, and really uncool.

I would also add treasonous if some of the things I’ve heard are accurate. Senator Lee then goes into how the Deep State Uniparty, what he refers to as “The Firm”, rams bills through in a manner that precludes members from actually reading the bills.

I still don’t know exactly what’s in this bill, although I have serious concerns with it based on the few details The Firm™? has been willing to share. But under no circumstances should this bill — which would fund military operations in three distant parts of the world and make massive, permanent changes to immigration law — be passed next week.

Nor should it be passed until we have had adequate time to read the bill, discuss it with constituents, debate it, offer amendments, and vote on those amendments.

Having the senators actually talk with their constituents is absolutely the last thing people like UpChuck Schumer and Cocaine Mitch McConnell want.

There’s no universe in which those things will happen by next week.

There have been people who have been digging into the bill and everything indicates that it is a Democrat’s and Chamber of Commerce’s dream. It’s also the nightmare of most Americans and legal resident aliens. If this thing is passed and signed into law, look for a lot of Republicans tearing their alleged representatives a new one. I think that a few Democrats will also be beaten with a constituent cluebat.

I also suspect that they see the next President being Donald Trump and they want to use this to hamstring him on dealing with the millions of criminal aliens and securing the border. If so, these morons are so out of touch that it’s scary. In any case, it may not make it out of the Senate and I see it dying in the House. What will happen is that every Republican in the Senate will be on record and I won’t be surprised if they are shown the door when it’s their time to run for reelection.
