Good day all. The continuing Progressive fall out from the Supreme Court’s decision that the States don’t get to decide what an insurrection is, continues. The Maine Secretary of State has announced that President Trump will be on the ballot.
I wrote about how Shenna Bellows, the Secretary of State for Maine, decided on her own to keep the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, off the ballot. With the decision by the United States Supreme Court that the States have no authority to declare something was an insurrection, Bellows announced that President Trump is back on the ballot. Here are the details from Town Hall:
Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellow has reversed course in her effort to keep former President Trump off the primary ballot after the Supreme Court on Monday unanimously overturned a similar ruling in Colorado.
Like she had any choice in the matter.
“I have reviewed the Anderson decision carefully. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that individual states lack authority to enforce Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment with respect to federal offices,” wrote Bellows, a Democrat. “Consistent with my oath and obligation to follow the law and the Constitution, and pursuant to the Anderson decision, I hereby withdraw my determination that Mr. Trump’s primary petition is invalid.”
She added: “As a result of the modified ruling, votes cast for Mr. Trump in the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election will be counted.”
I love how Bellows “Reviewed the decision carefully.” There wasn’t all that much to review. It said, basically, No you Moonbats, you can’t keep someone off the ballot claiming they led an insurrection. Only Congress can declare an insurrection and they haven’t. She has no choice in the matter. You can just see how much it hurt for her to issue that statement.
Maine’s Republican Party praised the court’s decision.
“Bellows tried to win the election for Joe Biden via bureaucratic coup and she has lost at every level of the Maine and U.S. legal system,” the party said in a statement, according to Spectrum News.
That is the real reason for all these attempts. The Democrats under the maladministration of Joe Biden and his handlers have virtually destroyed the United States. People aren’t just angry, they are furious. The odds are that President Trump will be the nominee for the Republican Party and if the polls are accurate, (And the Democrats planned fraud is insufficient), Donald Trump will win the election and return gloriously to the White House.
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said SCOTUS’s “ruling confirms what Republicans have been arguing: the American people get to pick their candidates, not activists or bureaucrats.”
She added: “The effort to kick Donald Trump off of the ballot was pure election interference from the left, and the RNC was proud to fight in the Supreme Court alongside President Trump’s campaign and other Republican partners to preserve voters’ right to make their voices heard.”

I have a suspicion that Shenna Bellows will not be returned to the Secretary of State’s office, (It’s not an elected position apparently), when her current term expires. While I don’t have a “feel” for how things will go in Maine, I suspect people are pretty angry at the Democrats ruling the state. As for Bellows and her bitter disappointment with the Supreme Court?
