Rabbi tells Jewish students to leave Columbia campus

Good day all. Since the October 7th attack on Israel, and especially since the Israelis decided to destroy Hamas, the left has shown their true colors. Those colors fit in with a certain defunct German political party’s ideas on Jews.

As the clean out of Gaza has proceeded, the radical antisemitic progressives, especially in the colleges and universities, have ramped up their attacks on Israel and American Jews. Frankly, what I’ve been seeing is scary. It’s worse for Jewish Americans. Congress has called several university administrators on to the carpet, and two have been forced out. (One side effect has been the exposure of the DEI hires and how they liked to plagiarize other people’s works)

Besides the usual stupidity like blocking roads and bridges, there have been some flat out attacks against Jewish students and educators. (Interestingly, I haven’t seen a lot of this where people haven’t been stripped of their natural and upheld by the Constitution rights suppressed by the states, cities or schools) Now the Rabbi at Columbia has said that Jewish Students should leave campus and go home for their own safety. Here are the details from Fox News:

The Orthodox rabbi at Columbia University and Barnard College sent a message recommending Jewish students leave campus and go home, as anti-Israel agitators have continued an “encampment” on campus and participants were caught on camera espousing full-on support for terrorism and supporting violence towards Jewish students.

In a WhatsApp message sent to hundreds before the start of Passover, Rabbi Elie Buechler, director of OU-LJIC at Columbia/Barnard, told students to leave “as soon as possible” until the situation improves, noting that “what we are witnessing in and around campus is terrible and tragic.”

“The events of the last few days, especially last night, have made it clear that Columbia University’s Public Safety and the NYPD cannot guarantee Jewish students’ safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy,” Buechler wrote. “It deeply pains me to say that I would strongly recommend you return home as soon as possible and remain home until the reality in and around campus has dramatically improved.”

This is disgraceful. Not what Rabbi Buechler is telling Jewish students to do, (Leave Columbia), but that he sees the situation is so bad that he has to say this in the first place. I find this not just disgusting, but intolerable and unacceptable.

The rabbi added: “It is not our job as Jews to ensure our own safety on campus. No one should have to endure this level of hatred, let alone at school.”

You are 100% correct Rabbi. Where I’m at, we haven’t seen this crap to any great extant, probably due to a number of people who are armed and hate Nazis and terrorist supporters. There is a Holocaust memorial near the Anger Central Primary Dwelling that is within walking distance and I have been there any number of times. I believe there is also a synagogue in the city, although I don’t know where it may be. If they were under threat from these Nazi vermin, I would stop by and offer what assistance I could.

House GOP Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., on Sunday demanded Columbia University President Dr. Nemat “Minouche” Shafik to “immediately resign” given how Columbia’s leadership “has clearly lost control of its campus” within the last 24 hours, “putting Jewish students’ safety at risk.”

Oh we need to go way beyond that. We are seeing flat out civil rights violations by these Brown shirt wannabe’s. We need to start seeing criminal charges against them in the same manner it used to be done against the KKK back in the 60’s. If that school gets one penny of Federal taxpayer money, and I have no doubt that they do, then they need to be put under court ordered receivership and federal agents, (U.S. Marshals. I don’t trust the FBI), making arrests.

Stefanik asserted that Columbia leadership’s hours of preparation for their testimony before the House Education and the Workforce Committee hearing last week “clearly was an attempt to cover up for their abject failure to enforce their own campus rules and protect Jewish students on campus.”

The problem here as on other campuses is that these Nazis aren’t facing any consequences for their actions. Yes, Shafik finally allowed the NYPD to come in and remove these terrorist sympathizers, but what needs to be done is expulsions. I’m not talking about the handful that have happened. What needs to be done is tossing a few hundred out on their ears and blacklisting them.

I personally, have had it with these losers and I’m not in any mood to coddle them. My father served in Europe in World War Two and he saw first hand what the Nazis did. (Dachau a few days after liberation) He never forgot what he saw and he passed it down to us. I never thought we would need to deal with this nonsense again, but here we are.

How should this be dealt with? As I said, the first thing is expulsion from these universities and colleges. Those staff members that are also pushing this Nazi crap, teaching and administrative? They need to be fired immediately. For those “Teachers” with tenure, fire them too and let them sue. The defense is simple. They are calling for a second Holocaust and are terrorist supporters. I’m not the only one who has had it with these jerks.

Ben Shapiro, host of “The Ben Shapiro Show” podcast and a frequent speaker on campuses around the country, decried how universities “have spent literally years telling conservatives on campus to shut up – that they might ‘microaggress’ [the] sensibilities of far-left students by saying that boys can’t be girls and the like.”

“They’ve spent those same years coddling radical leftists who actively undermine the actual functioning of the universities. Columbia’s latest protests weren’t designed to be peaceful. They were designed to intimidate and harass,” Shapiro said. He described how the latest protests featured pro-Hamas activists cheering Oct. 7, pledging a new Oct. 7 “every day” and screaming, “We’re all Hamas.”

Besides booting these thugs out of school, those who are here on visas should be deported. They have demonstrated that they are unfit to remain in this country. As for those judges who will coddle them? Remove them from the bench and if possible, charge them with aiding and abetting terrorists. (Yeah, when it comes to Nazis and their supporters, I tend to be a bit on the radical side)

At the congressional hearing Wednesday, House Republicans grilled Shafik on what consequences Columbia professors Joseph Massad, Katherine Franke and Mohamed Abdou faced for celebrating Oct. 7. The university president vowed Abdou would never work at Columbia again but gave unclear testimony on whether Massad was reprimanded by his dean about his comments or was removed as the chair of a committee.

I think we know the answer to this. Nothing was done and nothing will be done. What should be done with these three is immediate dismissal from Columbia University. There is a difference between political protest and actively supporting the slaughter of unarmed and defenseless men, women and children.

Shai Davidai, a Jewish professor at Columbia, said the demonstrations at Columbia “have never been about human rights.”

“From the very first moment, these protests were about justifying rape as a means to a goal,” he said, referencing the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack. “That is not about human rights.”

Davidai is requesting that Columbia leadership approve a police escort on Monday to “peacefully” sit at the center of the encampment, telling Fox News Digital, “We’re not going to engage with the other side, but we need protection. And I’m going to be there if I get the protection or if I don’t get the protection. And whatever happens is [the] responsibility of Columbia University.”

Mr. Davidai, if I could, I would be more then happy to provide what little protection I could to you. Of course, I would show up with a sidearm and a long gun of some sort and plenty of ammunition. As far as I’m concerned, the only good Nazis are dead ones. It’s time to retake the campuses from these terrorists and restore these schools to what they once were. Actual centers of higher learning. Until then, I, sadly, agree with Rabbi Elie Buechler. Jewish students need to leave for their own safety, and consider enrolling in schools that don’t coddle scum that would like to rebuild the gas chambers at Auschwitz.

Were I a Jewish student, I would be armed with a selection of liberty defense tools in absolute defiance of any contrary rule or law. I’d rather explain it to 12 than be carried by 6.
