Good day all. Once again, we have reached that time of year when Congress, to inept to actually create a budget, tries to pass their usual pork filled spending package called a Continuing Resolution. However, this time something new happened.
President Trump is back in office with a mandate to reduce government, (Preferably to ashes), and Make America Great Again. Since taking the oath of office, he has been doing just that and the Democrats are going insane. Now the Government is about to run out of money and legally can’t borrow any more. The usual answer has been a Continuing Resolution.
Both sides fight over it with the GOP usually getting the short end of the stick. This time, things are different. The Republicans managed to corral the problem children and passed a CR that is regarded as “Clean.” This means no pork in it. The Democrats, who love pork, wanted to lard it up as usual. The Republicans flat out said no, take it or leave it. The Democrats, lead by Charles “UpChuck” Schumer said fine, and they would block it. Their plan was to blame the Republicans for “Being unreasonable.”
There was just one problem. The American public is generally on board with President Trump’s gutting of the Federal Government as are almost all of the Republicans. The Democrats, who have been refusing to believe the polls or listen to the voters, have been trying to block President Trump. They were assuming that if the government shut down, President Trump and the Republicans would be blamed.
Then Schumer actually read the polls and understood what would happen if the government did run out of money. He has reversed course and will support the CR as is. Here are the details from Fox News:
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., says he will vote to keep the government open, warning that a shutdown has worse consequences for Americans and would only empower President Donald Trump and Elon Musk further.
“I believe it is my job to make the best choice for the country to minimize the harms to the American people. Therefore, I will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down,” Schumer said while speaking on the Senate floor on Thursday.
The Democratic leader rattled off a list of reasons he disagrees with the House-passed stopgap spending bill, but added, “I believe allowing Donald Trump to take even much more power via a government shutdown is a far worse option.
What actually happened is that Schumer figured out that if they did have a shutdown, it actually worked in President Trump’s and the Republican’s favor.

Unfortunately, (Or fortunately, depending on your point of view), the Democrats a morons. They are so blinded by absolute hate for President Trump and most of the American People, that they are continuing to fight to pork up the Continuing Resolution. They’re also screaming at UpChuck Schumer for caving in to the Republicans. Here are those details from Fox News:
As the prospect of a partial government shutdown looms and the Senate is poised to vote on a House-passed government-funding measure that would avert a shutdown, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced on Thursday that he “will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down.” He said that while the “bill is very bad, the potential for a shutdown has consequences for America that are much, much worse.”
Actually, he understood, belatedly, that it would be much worse for the Democrats. Pity that most of those moonbats can’t see the truth.
The senator’s announcement prompted pushback from some Democrats.
“I cannot underscore enough how incorrect that is,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said of Schumer’s argument. “What voting for this CR does is that it codifies the chaos and the reckless cuts that Elon Musk has been pursuing, the robbing of our federal government in order to finance tax cuts for billionaires is what is happening. And that is what Senate Democrats will be empowering if they vote for this CR.”

As usual, the little smooth brain socialist can’t grasp what is happening. President Trump has the taxpayers of America on his side.
“Respectfully Senator Schumer, no,” Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-N.J., wrote on X. “This Republican bill is bad for workers, bad for our veterans, bad for our seniors. Republicans should pull it and let us get back to work crafting a budget that works for all of our families.”
Translation: This is going to cut deeply into our grifting and kickbacks.
“It is clear that some of us understand the present danger & some don’t!” Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, declared on X. “I stand by the NO vote on the blank check for Trump & Elon… I’ve got no explanation nor agreement with Senate Dems being complicit in Trump’s Tyranny.”

Ahh yes, Jasmine Crockett. She is running for the office of dumbest member of the House of Representatives against AOC, Mad Maxine Waters and many others. I guess the prerequisite to running for office as a Democrat is to undergo brain surgery to have all the folds and wrinkles of the brain sanded down and made nice and smooth, like glass. That helps any actual thoughts slide right off.
The bill needs to pass both houses today and be sent to President Trump for his signature. (An actual signature, not something from an Autopen) I don’t know if there are enough votes to pass it or to shut down a filibuster in the Senate. Frankly, I’m hoping there isn’t. As some of the Democrats have figured out, it plays right into the hands of the Trump administration.

Since the federal Government can’t borrow money, they will have to live on what is currently coming in via taxes, fees and what not. The Office of Management and Budget will have to determine what to spend that money on and what the priority would be. At the top of the list is the National Defense, meaning we pay the soldiers. At the bottom? All those agencies that President Trump wants to shut down anyway. Now you can see why UpChuck Schumer changed his tune on the CR.

The vote has been held and the Continuing Resolution has passed. It’s now on it’s way for President Trump to sign it, with an actual pen, not an Autopen.
