Good day all. Once again, the United Nations is attempting to impose their rule on the world, especially the United States. On Wednesday, July 23rd, the UN court issued a ruling that wealthy nations need to comply with their climate change promises, (Under the Paris Accords I believe), or they will be fined.
The United Nations has a long history of trying to make themselves the “One True World Government” almost since its inception. While many in Europe are just fine with being UN lackeys, they have a long running problem with the United States. Our attitude has been to tell the UN to go pound sand. Now their fake court has issued a ruling threatening nations that don’t bow to their will. Here are the details from Fox News:
The United Nations’ highest court on Wednesday ruled that wealthy countries must comply with their commitments to curb fossil fuels and pollution or risk being held financially liable by nations hit the hardest by climate change.
The 15-member U.N. International Court of Justice said that treaties compel rich nations to curb global warming and that the countries were also responsible for the actions of companies under their jurisdiction or control, Reuters reported.
Well, the court has a small problem, at least with the United States. We never ratified any such treaty. In fact no such treaty was ever submitted to the Congress. Why? Because it would have been laughed off the floor and any president submitting it roundly insulted. As for other countries?
“States must cooperate to achieve concrete emission reduction targets,” Judge Yuji Iwasawa said at The Hague. “Greenhouse gas emissions are unequivocally caused by human activities which are not territorially limited.”
And if we don’t comply with your orders? What are you going to do about it?
Failure to do so could result in “full reparations to injured states in the form of restitution, compensation and satisfaction provided that the general conditions of the law of state responsibility are met,” the report states.
Obviously, the United States is going to ignore this nonsense.
In response to the ruling, White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told Fox News Digital that “as always, President Trump and the entire Administration is committed to putting America first and prioritizing the interests of everyday Americans.”
That’s a nice way of telling the UN Court to go take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut. However, I don’t think the UN Secretary General actually understands that we are going to ignore this joke of a ruling.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the court opinion affirms that Paris climate agreement goals need to be the basis of all climate policies.
“This is a victory for our planet, for climate justice, and for the power of young people to make a difference,” he said. “The world must respond.”
Hello! The United States isn’t a part of that so called agreement. Even though your pal Obama signed on, President Trump told you to piss off in his first term. Yes, President Autopen Biden jumped back on it again, President Trump promptly pulled out again on Day one of his second administration. There is also the previously mentioned fact that there is no treaty. Nothing was submitted to the Congress for ratification.
Wednesday’s ruling was hailed by a number of small nation states.
“I didn’t expect it to be this good,” said Ralph Regenvanu, the climate minister for the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu.
I see they are already counting the dollars they expect to get from the American taxpayers. I’m sure every single one of these turd world “Leaders” are looking at all the luxury items they are going to be buying.
Many developing nations and small island states have said they are at great risk from rising sea levels. Some have sought clarification from the court after the 2015 Paris Agreement failure to curb the growth of global greenhouse gas emissions.
There are many small problems with that statement. The sea levels haven’t risen much at all in the last century. What has happened is a lot of these sandbars called Island Nations have been subsiding. In other words, they’re sinking.
The whole “Man made Global Warming/Climate Change” claim is nothing more than junk science and always has been. The overwhelming majority of “Scientists” pushing this nonsense are not climatologists. The whole thing was cooked up decades ago as a way to get money. Originally grant money for “scientists” and more recently as a means to further enrich the Global elites.
I look forward to this so call court to try and enforce their order. China, which is a major polluter, will laugh in their faces. India will ignore them. The United States? We aren’t a party to the Paris Accords and they have no legal basis in the United States. President Trump has already told the EU to take a hike. What are they going to do, send in UN Blue Hats to try and “Enforce” their order? Yeah, good luck with that.
