Arctic Frost was approved at the highest levels of the DoJ

Good day all. Early in the Biden Maladministration, the Garland DoJ decided to go after all of the enemies of the Democrat party and Dementia Joe Biden. The overall operation was called Arctic Frost and it was under this that the lawfare against President Trump and all his supporters was initiated it.

In the last few weeks, both the DoJ under Pam Bondi and the FBI under Kash Patel have been releasing more and more documents on just how far off the rails the DoJ went in their goal to “Get Trump!” by pretty much any means necessary. Initially, it was thought that it was a few “Bad actors” in the DoJ and FBI. It now turns out that Merrick Garland and Christopher Wray signed off on the entire project. Here are the details from Fox News:

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Thursday, October 23rd, released an April 2022 Justice Department memo showing then-Attorney General Merrick Garland, then-Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and then-FBI Director Christopher Wray personally approved an FBI investigation into alleged efforts by Trump campaign associates to obstruct Congress’ certification of the 2020 election.

The April 2022 memo, signed by Garland, Monaco and Wray, authorized the FBI’s Washington Field Office to open what the bureau designated a “Sensitive Investigative Matter.” The document details the FBI’s request to examine whether individuals connected to Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign conspired to obstruct Congress’ certification of the Electoral College on Jan. 6, 2021.

Which he didn’t. There were two groups in Washington that day. One group was listening to President Trump as he gave his speech, and the other group was on Capitol Hill protesting the Tainted election and demanding that the votes be rechecked due to all of the very questionable actions that took place on election day.

When President Trump concluded his speech he said to go to Congress and peacefully protest. He was aware of the other protest and was concerned that things could get out of control. As we now know, Pelosi and others not only prevented President Trump from sending in extra security, they appear to have encouraged things. Even so, it was just a handful of people who were the problem and there is still the question of how many of them were federal agents. (Last report was between 50 and 200)

“Following the 2020 Presidential and Vice Presidential election, in an apparent effort to obstruct Congress’s certification of Electoral College, fraudulent certificates of electors’ votes were submitted to the Archivist of the United States, purporting to represent the actual elector votes from the states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin,” the executive summary reads. “Open source reporting and public statements made by individuals closely associated with Donald J. Trump, Inc. (Trump Campaign) present an articulable factual basis indicating the existence of a federal crime, and thus the FBI seeks to open a full investigation.

“Because this investigation involves a SIM as set forth in the Department of Justice memorandum dated February 5, 2020, entitled ‘Additional Requirements for Opening of Certain Sensitive Investigations’ (DOJ Memo), your authorization is required before WFO may initiate this full investigation,” the document continued.

And Garland signed off with no hesitation. Not because he thought there was anything to this, but to do one thing. Get Trump and destroy the idea of Making America Great Again.

The authorization came more than a year after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot and months before now-former special counsel Jack Smith was appointed to oversee related investigations. The memo appears to document an early stage of the Justice Department’s examination of the so-called “fake electors” effort that became a focus of Smith’s probe.

There were no “Fake electors.” What there were, were people standing by in case the original electoral vote was thrown out and a new one had to be held. None of them made any attempts to actually cast a vote in the Electoral College. As for Jack Smith? Well we know why he was illegally appointed.

In 2023, Smith subpoenaed phone records belonging to eight Republican senators and one House member, covering a four-day period — Jan. 4 to Jan. 7, 2021 — to examine call activity around the Capitol riot. The subpoenas did not seek call content but instead listed numbers, dates and durations.

And that was blatantly an attack on the Republican members of Congress. It was nothing more then flat out intimidation by the Biden/Garland DoJ. As to getting the contents of the calls, that would have been impossible. The phone companies do not monitor or record calls and these days, they are encrypted. Smith and Garland would have had to go to the NSA. Of course, the NSA would deny having recordings of those calls. (Which we all know is garbage)

The targeted senators included Republican Sens. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Josh Hawley of Missouri and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.

In addition to the eight senators, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told Fox News’ Sean Hannity Tuesday that he recently discovered Smith also attempted to subpoena his toll records but that his phone company, AT&T, did not hand them over.

It was good that AT&T told Smith to go pound sand. They must have figured out pretty quickly that there was no actual crime and that it was a fishing expedition by Smith and Garland. These requests also could be construed as trying to interfere with the business of Congress, although with Graham, if they actually get anything, it would be probably be his checking the political weather report to see which way the wind was blowing.

Smith said the records were narrowly tailored and “entirely proper,” adding they were meant to support his investigation into Trump’s alleged efforts to subvert the 2020 election results. His lawyers wrote to Grassley, saying the subpoenas complied with Justice Department policy and were routine.

Nothing about that investigation complied with policies let alone with the Constitution of the United States. We need to look no further then the FBI Panty Raid on Mar-a-lago. What we’ve learned about that is frightening. The FBI agents were give shoot to kill authority, they were told not to wear anything identifying them as Federal Agents and the Secret Service was not notified. Only the fact that President Trump was not on site and thus there was a reduced number of agents prevented a potential gun battle.

Republicans have broadly claimed they were inappropriately spied on and compared Arctic Frost to the Watergate scandal. Smith’s lawyers emphasized the normalcy of seeking phone records and said public officials are not immune from investigation.

There was nothing normal about that investigation, beginning with Smith’s appointment. Of course, Smith and his lawyers disagree.

Smith’s attorneys also disputed accusations from FBI Director Kash Patel that the subpoenas were hidden, noting the requests were referenced in a footnote of Smith’s final report and shared with Trump’s defense team in discovery.

A footnote buried somewhere that most people would miss it, not in the main par of the report. You would think that asking for the phone records for sitting members of congress would be something you would want to be known. Of course, if you are actually trying to hide it without actually trying to hide it, burying it in a tiny little footnote is what you would do.

People are comparing what Smith, Garland and Wray did with Watergate. I disagree. Watergate was a break in and wasn’t government policy. Nixon wasn’t even aware of it, and if he had thrown the Watergate burglars under the bus, he might have completed his second term and be considered a successful president.

What the Biden Maladministration did was exactly what any tinpot dictatorship does with it’s political enemies. We can’t prosecute Dementia Joe Biden, since he’s not mentally competent to stand trial, but anyone else who didn’t get one of the Biden Autopen pardons? They need to face a jury. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to Smith being given a nice congressional oversight committee rectal probe with a baseball bat.

pedant point: this statement is incomplete:

“We can’t prosecute Dementia Joe Biden, since he’s not mentally competent to stand trial, ” as to the best of my knowledge, JRB* has NOT had a proper mental status examination, much less workup, that was made available to the Special Prosecutor in a timely fashion.
