Good day all. Bezerkely California, officially known as Berkeley, has become the epicenter of the assaults on the 1st Amendment by the group known as “Antifa.”
The Antifa, which is short for “Anti First Amendment”, movement has shown that it will not hesitate to use violence against anyone who dares to voice an opinion they don’t like. In areas that are controlled by Progressive Democrats, there have been a number of credible reports that police were ordered to stand down and allow the Antifa groups to carry out their attacks.
One of these is the mayor of Bezerkely, Jesse Arreguin. There are a number of reports that he deliberately ordered the police to not do anything to interfere with the Antifa groups, and do everything they could to help them shut down the free speech groups. Now, there is a plan to hold a “Free Speech week” in Bezerkeley, and the Mayor wants to shut it down. Here are the details from the San Francisco Chronicle:
In the aftermath of a right-wing rally Sunday that ended with anarchists chasing attendees from a downtown park, Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin urged UC Berkeley on Monday to cancel conservatives’ plans for a Free Speech Week next month to avoid making the city the center of more violent unrest.
“I don’t want Berkeley being used as a punching bag,” said Arreguin, whose city has been the site of several showdowns this year between, on the one hand, the left and its fringe anarchist wing, and on the other, supporters of President Trump who at times have included white nationalists.
“I am concerned about these groups using large protests to create mayhem,” Arreguin said. “It’s something we have seen in Oakland and in Berkeley.”
How about you do your job you Proglodyte piece of trash and shut down the Anti First Amendment fascists when they start assaulting people? After all, you scumbag, you did take an oath when you were sworn in as mayor that your would uphold the Constitution of the United States. Or were you lying when you took that oath?
The mayor wants UC Berkeley to halt plans by a conservative campus group, the Berkeley Patriot, to host right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos during its scheduled Free Speech Week from Sept. 24-27. Berkeley’s right-vs.-left cage matches began with an appearance that Yiannopoulos was to have made in February at a campus hall, an event that was aborted when black-clad anarchists like those who broke up Sunday’s downtown rally stormed into Sproul Plaza, smashed windows and set bonfires.
First, a few things regarding terminology. The San Francisco Chronicle is a hard left wing propaganda rag for the Democrat Party. In their view, anyone to the right of Leon Trotsky is “Far Right.” Granted, that does describe about 99.9% of all the news organizations these days.
Second, the mayor supports the goals of the Anti First Amendment thugs. He wants to end the right to speak your mind freely, regardless of what you might be saying. The recent free speech rally in Boston shows how police can handle the Antifa thugs when allowed to do their job.
No, what this totalitarian pig wants is an end to all dissent and since he can’t legally order the arrest of the speakers, he’s just going to let his friends in the Antifa movement do it for him. In this, he’s not unlike the very group he wants to shut down, the Nazi Party.
There have been reports that the Berkeley Patriot is also trying to lure ousted White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and right-wing commentator Ann Coulter to appear on campus during its Free Speech Week. Bryce Kasamoto, a spokesman for the group, said Monday, “We are still working out the logistics of this event with the university and law enforcement. Once we have worked out final specifics, we will be able to confirm speakers for Free Speech Week.”
Arreguin is wary of the whole idea.
“I’m very concerned about Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter and some of these other right-wing speakers coming to the Berkeley campus, because it’s just a target for black bloc to come out and commit mayhem on the Berkeley campus and have that potentially spill out on the street,” Arreguin said, referring to militants who have also been called anti-fascists or antifa.
Then you need to have the police, who you are supposed to be managing, stomp hard on the Antifa thugs when they move beyond protest into assault and battery with a side of attempted murder. I don’t care if you want to listen to Ann Coulter or Milo Yiannopoulos or not. Your job is to provide a safe venue where people who want to hear them speak, may do so without fear of being mauled.
“I obviously believe in freedom of speech, but there is a line between freedom of speech and then posing a risk to public safety,” the mayor said.
No, you do not support freedom of speech. Your demands to suppress the speech of people that you disagree with proves that.
“That is where we have to really be very careful — that while protecting people’s free-speech rights, we are not putting our citizens in a potentially dangerous situation and costing the city hundreds of thousands of dollars fixing the windows of businesses.”
Well then how about actually enforcing the laws on the books regarding destruction of private property and arrest these scum when they engage in vandalism and arson? Oh wait, that would mean you would have to come down on the very groups who’s goals you actually support. How silly of me.
Also on tap for next month is a campus appearance by Ben Shapiro, another former Breitbart News editor, who is scheduled to speak Sept. 14 at the 1,900-capacity Zellerbach Hall. His appearance is sponsored by Berkeley College Republicans.
Shapiro told The Chronicle last week that he would welcome anyone who wanted to protest his appearance, but that “I’m actively telling people not to show up to defend my free speech. That’s the police’s job.”
So you don’t want the Bikers for Trump to come by and break heads if the Antifa fascists start attacking people? Well, that’s your right of course.
UC Berkeley is charging the organizers of Shapiro’s appearance $15,000 for the campus’ security costs.
And will they actually do the job they were paid to, or are they just going to take the money and head over to the local Starbucks for coffee? I seem to recall the last time you demanded this type of payment, the “security” was no where to be seen. Of course, I may be mistaken and they were actually there and doing what they were contracted to do.
Here’s the problem. The Antifa, or Anti First Amendment groups are dedicated to ending the United States as a free nation. They have announced this publicly. California is a state that has all but torn up the United States Constitution. One of the sections of the United States Constitution the state California has trashed is the right to Keep and Bear Arms, better known as the 2nd Amendment. Since the Anti First Amendment thugs know that their targets are probably unarmed, they can move in and beat them to death with baseball bats.
In states that support the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment, you aren’t seeing anywhere near the violence from the Anti Free Speech thugs. They don’t want to get shot. In the mess in Charlottesville a few weeks ago, at least one person being charged by the mobs pulled a gun he was carrying. He didn’t fire, and was able to evade the rampaging mob of blackshirts.
There was some question on whether or not the mob actually did see the gun. People carrying a concealed pistol tend to go with something small, and those are not as easy to see when drawn. Now if he had fired, then the mob would have known about it, or at least the survivors would have.
Mayor Jesse Arreguin has demonstrated his complete unfitness to hold the office. His apparent refusal to uphold the Constitution, along with his rumored aiding and supporting of the Antifa thugs should be enough to initiate whatever removal process exists in California and Bezerkely. However, since the political power structure out there rivals the real Nazi’s, Communists and Fascists of the 20th century, he will be venerated, not vilified. Let’s see what happens next. Will he do his job, or will he continue down the road to anarchy and tyranny?
