Good day all. In a few days, the little monsters some call “Children” will be putting on costumes and running about, extorting candy from homeowners. However, when it comes to their choice of costumes, the Progressives who Stole Halloween have made their presence known.
In this case, we have the barking moonbats from Gonzaga University who are issuing warning about “Culturally inappropriate” costumes. Here are the detailks regarding this idiocy from Fox News:
With Halloween weekend approaching, Gonzaga University has taken the opportunity to warn its students about “dangerous and damaging traditions” that rear its head at this time of year – like “cultural appropriation.”
The private Catholic school points to the holiday’s “Christian origins” but notes that it has devolved into “binge drinking, sexualized or culturally inappropriate costumes, and vandalism,” Judi Biggs Garbuio, the vice president for student development, and Athena Sok, student body president, wrote in a joint email obtained by Campus Reform.
Well, I see they got the origins of Halloween dead wrong. It’s actually a pre-Christianity pagan holiday that has been taken over by Christianity. As to the parts not dealing with “culturally inappropriate costumes,” they actually do have something there. Binge drinking is a bad idea and breaking other people’s stuff is wrong and illegal. Females wearing skimpy costumes that leave little or nothing to the imagination? What’s wrong with that?
“We urge our community to be aware of the potentially harmful impact insensitive behavior can have on fellow students, other members of the Gonzaga community…one of these behaviors is cultural appropriation – the act of taking or using things from a culture that is not your own, especially without showing respect of that culture.”
Will someone hit this CommuNazi cow with a Cluebat please? American culture takes from every other culture from around the world and makes it part of our uniqueness. Oh, that’s right. This clueless idiot probably can’t stand anything about this country that allows her to go to college, get a useless degree in the “Feelz” studies and will never be doing much with her life except asking if you want fries with your order.
The Gonzaga Student Body Association put on several events this week leading up to the holiday, like “Courageous Conversations: ‘My Culture is Not a Costume’” and “The Sexualization of Halloween.”
The officials encourage students to “be alert” and report or intervene with any “concerning” situations.
Intervene? Oh I can see how well that might go. I know a number of people who would respond to one of those “Interventions” with two left jabs and a right cross. Most people, however, will respond with this message:
Earlier this year, Biggs Garbuio sent out a proactive email to students on Cinco de Mayo, saying she didn’t want to see any pictures of Gonzaga students appropriating Mexican culture, as reported by The Spokesman-Review.
Or what, you will stamp your feet and hold your breath until you turn blue?
She included ways to “celebrate responsibly” by not wearing serapes and fake mustaches and donate to organizations working for immigrants rights,” as well as “Alternative Ways to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo.”
Immigrant rights is CommuNazi code words for Open Borders and protecting criminal aliens. If I had been there and gotten that spam, I would have put on a sombrero, serape and waxed up my mustache. I also would have used the worst Spanish accent you ever heard. Then I would dare this moonbat to actually try something.
Other colleges have issued guides, made threats, and even offered counseling for “offensive” Halloween costumes.
I think it’s long past time to start making counter threats to these alleged places of higher learning. Not threats of violence, but threats of legal actions. Hit them right in the wallets. Perhaps a few multi-million dollar judgments might change a few tunes. I wouldn’t exclude some of these moonbat “Professors” either. Bankrupting a few dozen of these ivory tower Marxists might cause others to rethink their own attitudes.
