Good day all. News broke this morning that Representative Elijah Cummings had died overnight. Cummings was a senior member of the Progressive Liberal Democrats in Congress. If you are expecting a nice obituary from me, then you need to move along.
Elijah Cummings came to my attention during the hearings into Obama’s various scandals. Things like Operation Fast&Furious, the IRS abuses against the Tea Party and the whitewashing of Felonia von Pantsuit’s unauthorized and unsecured private email server. You could count on Cummings to accuse everyone who opposed Obama for any reason as being a racist.
Cummings represented, (Allegedly), Baltimore, Maryland. He did such a fine job representing the district that it looks like a third world war zone. When President Trump, who Cummings’s despised, pointed this out, Cummings promptly fell into his rote response to any criticism. “TRUMP IS A RACIST!!!”
The major media organs are now putting up their obituaries on Cummings. Some are praising him, others are more circumspect, but polite. Those of you who may remember my comments when Senator Edward Moore Kennedy croaked will know that I won’t be polite. First, here’s what Fox News has to say:
Rep. Elijah Cummings, the powerful House Democrat who represented Baltimore for more than two decades and was a vocal critic of President Trump, died early Thursday after battling health problems, his office said in a statement.
Health problems? Probably brought on by his general rotteness, bitterness and all around scumminess.
As chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, he was one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington, and played a key role in the House Democrats’ ongoing efforts to impeach Trump.
Cummings was one of those types of Democrat, (Which these days is almost all of them), who never let things like due process, the constitution or the truth get in his way. He covered up for Felonia von Pantsuit and Barack Obama who got people killed, and then went after President Trump because he had the nerve to win the election and do everything he could to keep his promises.
Tributes poured in Thursday from lawmakers and others in politics.
Mostly from the Democrats. The Republicans will play nice because they are Republicans and have a belief that “Manners Maketh Man”, (Or woman as the case may be). Me, I intend to be an ill mannered lout and call a spade a shovel.
“My heart is broken, as I weep personally and for his family and community,” Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said. “Elijah Cummings’ unmatched integrity and leadership leaves a remarkable legacy.”
I do agree with Debbie Downer with regards to Cummings “Unmatched integrity,” but not in the way she may be thinking. It’s impossible to match what never existed in the first place.
“This is a terrible tragedy,” tweeted Howard Dean, the former Democratic governor of Vermont. “Elijah is one of the most honest, thoughtful, decent people I ever met in politics. His moral compass was unfailing throughout his life in and out of politics. My deepest thanks to Elijah’s family for lending him to our country for all these years.”
I didn’t know that Howard Dean was still alive. I wonder what rock he crawled out from under? Calling Elijah Cummings “Decent and honest” is, to my way of thinking, note at all dissimilar to saying Hitler and Stalin liked children.
In the House, Cummings built a substantial power base. At the time of his death, he was chairman of the influential House Oversight Committee and a leading voice in the Congressional Black Caucus. He played a key role in the impeachment inquiry into Trump.
However, Cummings had not been seen the past few weeks at closed-door interviews, alongside House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel.
Probably due to his being brain dead somewhere.
However, every subpoena, document request or statement which was issued on impeachment of late was done in the name of all three committee chairs.
Interesting. I wonder if we should check the signatures on those subpoenas and see if they match Cummings signature. If they do and are all absolutely identical? That would mean they were forgeries, and someone was tracing his signature onto the legal documents.
New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney is next in seniority to take over the gavel of the committee.
Oh great. Another New York Nutcase.
During the Obama years, Cummings — as the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee — was known as a relentless defender of the administration during high-profile congressional probes, including during the investigation of the Benghazi attacks.
Cummings lived by two rules. The Protect the Democrats at all costs, and Barack Obama can do no wrong. Anyone who thought Obama should be held to the same standards as everyone else, (Who wasn’t a Progressive Liberal Democrat), was a racist. Anything Obama did to conservatives was just fine as far as he was concerned.
He clashed with Trump after the president criticized his district as a “rodent-infested mess” where “no human being would want to live.”
Which, from what I’ve seen, is accurate.
Cummings replied that government officials must stop making “hateful, incendiary comments” that only serve to divide and distract the nation from its real problems, including mass shootings and white supremacy.
Translation: Bow down and worship Progressivism. If you do not, you are an evil racist! Cummings blamed everything on white supremacists and as far as he was concerned, if you had a skin tone evolved for the low sunlight conditions of Northern Europe, everything was your fault and you were a white supremacist. The fact of the matter is, Cummings was the true racist. He flat out couldn’t get past someone’s skin color.
As far as I’m concerned, good riddance. Cummings was a corrupt, evil and ignorant individual who hated everything that made America Great. He was an intolerant bigot who refused to consider that many of the problems in his district are due to the policies he pushed for.
Perhaps the voters in his district will finally step up and put someone into this scumbag’s seat who believes in individual rights and responsibilities and will work with his or her constituents to make Baltimore a place people will want to move into again and not move out of. Who am I kidding? Those idiots will just elect another bigoted dirtbag who promises them free stuff.
