Good day all. Once again, we have Democrats acting like Democrats, (Democratic CommuNazis), and trashing the Constitution. In this case, we have the governor of New Mexico, Lujan Grisham, who took it upon herself to block people from leaving the city of Gallup.
What makes this even more egregious, was the method she used to do this. She invoked the Riot Control Act, even though there was no riot. Here are the details from Fox News:
New Mexico Gov. Lujan Grisham invoked the state’s Riot Control Act to slow the spread of coronavirus and sealed off the roads into and out of the hard-hit city of Gallup, she announced Friday. To help control a surging outbreak in the city, the Democratic governor locked down the city at the request of Gallup’s mayor, Grisham said in a news release.
I looked up the mayor. Yep, she too is a member of the Democratic CommuNazi Party.
The Riot Control Act allows the state’s governor to enact temporary restrictions under a state of emergency, including prohibiting residents from being on public streets and the use of certain streets and highways. Beginning noon Friday, all roads into the city were shut down and businesses were required to close from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. in the city of 22,000. Additionally, only two people are allowed in a vehicle at the same time.
So, for all intents and purposes, the Governor suspended the Constitution and put the city under Martial Law. I can’t wait for the lawsuits to be filed on THAT one!
Anyone who fails to comply with the restrictions will be found guilty of a misdemeanor, or a fourth-degree felony if they are found to be breaking the rules more than once.
Yeah, good luck getting any convictions under that, and you can bet they will be appealed to the federal courts, especially considering the misuse of the ACT. Now the Act only allows this to be in place for three days, and it will expire, (Or have expired), on Monday, May 4th. As for the excuse the Governor used?
“I recognize this request is unusual and constitutes a drastic measure, and the emergency powers set out under the Riot Control Act should be invoked sparingly,” said Mayor Jack McKinney in his letter asking the governor to invoke a state of emergency in his city. “However, the COVID-19 outbreak in the city of Gallup is a crisis of the highest order. Immediate action is necessary.”
According to Grisham, McKinley County, where Gallup is located, has reported 1,027 positive coronavirus cases, more than 30 percent of the state’s total. The county has also faced 19 deaths.
“Its infection trend shows no sign of flattening,” a press release from the governor’s office said.
Well know, those are interesting numbers. How about a few other details that are seriously lacking? Such as, the 19 who died? How old were they, did they have any preexisting conditions and how many of the positives are actually sick? Don’t worry, I’ll wait.
My next question will be, will this tyrant of a governor try to renew and extend this illegal order? Does she even have the legal ability to do so? How long before a judge rules that this was illegal and issues a stay? The Democrat Governors and Mayors have shown just what they are.
Currently, we’re moving up on the 2nd Box Of Liberty, with the 3rd Box of Liberty also being used. If these sorts of actions keep up, eventually the 4th Box of Liberty will be opened. My next question is, does New Mexico have a recall provision, both city and state, so the citizens can kick these Hitler wannabe’s to the curb?
