Not all tyrants are Democrats

Good day all. During the Great Panicdemic of 2020, we have been able to see just who cares about the Constitution and who couldn’t care less. By and large, it’s been the Blue State Governors and Blue City mayors who have torn up the Bill of Rights.

There are exceptions to this rule, and one of them is a RINO in the Illinois State Legislature by the name of William E. Brady. He has put forth a bill that will allow the Governor to basically take everything you own, including the clothes off your back if he so chooses. Here are the details from the Gateway Pundit:

Senator William E. Brady, the Illinois Minority leader in the state senate, introduced legislation on Wednesday that will reportedly limit the governor’s right to confiscate property from business owners. Senator Brady is a Republican.

According to the proposed legislation SB3993 the government will set “safe place of business protocols” for businesses to follow to reopen.

The post lists the protocols under which the slaves will be allowed to return to their lives of serfdom. However, there is a nice little surprise in the bill.

The legislation then goes on to describe how the Illinois governor can confiscate personal property during a state emergency.

The list of what a governor can steal confiscate is rather extensive. I would recommend going to the Illinois General Assembly web page and read the bill for yourselves. The relevant section is Section 4. Basically it a laundry list of what they can take and what you can do about it. (Essentially nothing it seems) Oh the state will compensate you, however, considering the massive budget shortfalls Illinois has had over the last few years, and how they’ve been regularly stiffing vendors, you can rest assured you won’t see a dime.

Later, the Gateway Pundit heard back from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce regarding this bill.

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce contacted The Gateway Pundit this morning. They stress the proposed legislation limits the governor’s powers. The bill limits the powers to confiscate property by the governor. SB 3993 simply prohibits Illinois governors from extending their emergency powers beyond 30 days without the consent of the elected assembly.

The law DOES NOT add any powers to the governor to declare a state of emergency or add any additional powers during an emergency. Any powers listed in the bill are current law and have been law for a number of years. SB 3993 serves as a legislative check on the power of the Governor by prohibiting extensions of an Emergency Order without the approval of the Illinois General Assembly. This will hopefully help restore the system of checks and balances so necessary for the proper functioning and oversight of government.

If you click on this version of the legislation you will see that the current law is in regular text and the additions (SB 3993) are underlined.

You will excuse me if I don’t believe this. The current Governor of Illinois, J.B Pritzker, has not been showing himself to be concerned with the rights of the people. He has been moving to crush the rights of the people since this disaster started. It’s finally reached the point where the Department of Justice has had to intervene. I suspect that if Pritzker doesn’t join his predecessors in prison, he’s going to be another “One and Done” governor. However, this is Illinois, and that state is ruled by Chicago. I’m not holding my breath.

As for the RINO, William Brady? I suspect he will con his way back into office. RINO’s are like cockroaches. They survive anything.
