Democrats now working to kill tens of millions of jobs

Good day all. Kalifornistan, at the unions behest, passed a law which killed the gig economy in the state. Hundreds of thousands of people suddenly found themselves out of a job or their income seriously curtailed. Most people consider AB 5 to be a disaster for the working people.

Not content with destroying the livelihoods of people working in the energy sector, the CommuNazis want to introduce this disaster on a national level. Here are the details from the Foundation for Economic Freedom:

With control of Congress and the White House, Democrats are making labor policy one of their first priorities. Ironically enough, that’s actually bad news for independent contractors and gig economy workers across the country.

The legislation at the core of their agenda is the PRO Act, which Democrats just re-introduced with sponsors including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer. Among many other things, the bill would severely restrict the legal definition of independent contractors in a way that would largely end the gig economy as we know it.

I have worked as a contractor, and I am one of those who doesn’t care for it. On the other hand, I know people who like the freedom it gives them. I will admit that when I was contracting, I made a pile of money. I also understand the need for and the uses of contractors. There are times that a company is doing something that needs some specialized help for a limited period of time. Hiring a permanent employee just doesn’t make sense.

The legislators’ stated intention is to protect workers and bolster their rights under law. Through the reclassification of independent contractors, Democrats hope to force gig economy companies to hire workers as full employees and thus provide them the accompanying salaries and benefits.

The men and women of labor are the backbone of our economy and the foundation of our strength,” Pelosi said. “With American workers seeing their lives and livelihoods devastated by the ongoing pandemic and economic crisis, the reintroduction of the PRO Act is more important than ever.

I am proud to join my colleagues in introducing this legislation to put more money in the pockets of hard-working Americans, creating a foundation that provides livable wages to our families,” Schumer added.

Those two scumbags have never done an honest days work in their lives. They are so totally out of touch with reality that they make Marie Antoinette and King Louis the XVI look like the poster children of the common people.

The context here is crucial, because this legislation isn’t coming out of nowhere. It’s modeled after a similar but highly controversial California bill, AB 5, that likewise forced the reclassification of independent contractors.

President Biden supported AB 5 at the time, and is on the record supporting the PRO Act, too. And now that Democrats control Congress, it could pass the House and find support from the White House. The only question would be whether it could make it through the closely-divided Senate.

Oh I think they would ram it through. The Democratic CommuNazis will do whatever it takes to destroy the American Dream and create their socialist nightmare, and make no mistake. If this piece of crap passes, it will wreck the economy overnight and probably trigger a depression.

The PRO Act would outlaw millions of existing jobs with the stroke of the president’s pen.

After all, it would make illegal any independent contractor arrangement where the worker provides services within “the usual course of the business of the employer,” meaning jobs like Uber drivers, Doordash drivers, Instacart grocery deliverers, and more could not exist as we know them. There are roughly 10.6 million independent contractors in the US, accounting for 6.9 percent of all employment. Some of these workers might not be affected by the law and some others may get hired on as full-time as a result. But there’s little doubt that millions more would find themselves unemployed.

The gig jobs that people use through things like Uber, Doordash and others are generally not full time jobs. People do them for extra income. Uber and Lyft are generally considered successful, (Even if Uber still has trouble figuring out how to make a profit), and people use these services all the time. I’ve used Uber a few times when my truck was in the shop.

The experience in Kalifornistan showed what would actually happen. The contractors would not be hired on full time, the service would shut down instead. When people confronted the socialist bimbo who, at the behest of the unions, cost them their jobs, her attitude was “Tough! Sucks to be you! She’s lucky she wasn’t murdered right there on the spot, the anger was so extreme.

For example, Uber alone employs more than 1 million drivers in the US. It’s nearly certain they would all lose their jobs under the PRO Act, because Uber already runs a loss, not a profit, and adding an independent contractor as a full staff member counts roughly $3,625 per driver. Basic math tells you that most of these workers would end up being let go; Uber could even go under. After all, the California legislation nearly forced Uber and Lyft to shut down operations in the Golden State altogether until a last-minute ballot referendum modified the law

That hasn’t helped tens of thousands of others who had no choice but to leave the state. In Hollywood alone, any job that was contracted and could be moved out of state has been. If this passes, those jobs will just go away overnight. And in general, contractors don’t get unemployment benefits. You know those morons pushing this haven’t considered that little detail.

The authors of AB 5 and the PRO Act likely earnestly believed they were going to help workers like Lehner and O’Connell. But the ugly results of their policy naivete will leave many like them unemployed instead.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer clearly haven’t thought this through. If the PRO Act becomes law, it won’t help independent workers—it will eliminate their jobs or strip them of the flexibility that attracted them to the gig economy in the first place.

And they don’t care. Pelosi and Schumer have shown themselves to be incompetent and utterly corrupt. They care only about their power, maintaining it and increasing it. These is little doubt that if this piece of trash manages to get to the Fake President’s desk, that senile pedophile will sign it. He has no idea what this will mean. (Or what day of the week it is in all probability).

When millions of people are thrown out of work overnight with no hope of finding new jobs, they are going to be both frightened and furious. They will be in danger of losing their homes and ending up in the streets. They will have lost everything thanks to the CommuNazis and this is what leads to real insurrections, not that joke of one last January 6th.

It may do no good, but call the jokes we call our “Representatives” and tell them to shut this down NOW! Passing this and putting it into law will, without a doubt, crash the economy even worse then the stupid Panicdemic lockdowns did. At least those actually benefited the gig economy and people who lost their jobs thanks to idiot governors and mayors were able to pick something up to tide them over. The Pro Act will not get people hired, it will cause a new Great Depression. 25+ percent unemployment would be my guess 6 weeks after implementation. Thank about that.
