Good day all. One of the dumbest ideas running around due to the Great Panicdemic of 2020 was the nonsense that wearing a mask will protect you from the Wuhan Flu. If you, like me, point out that a cloth or paper mask is about as effective at stopping a virus as a chain link fence is at stopping a mosquito, you are accused of “Ignoring the science!”
When, in response to that accusation you point to numerous studies done prior to the Great Panicdemic, you are banned from socialist media, and threatened with death by the ever so caring Progressive Liberal Totalitarian CommuNazis. Now the mask mandates are starting to be discontinued in states that respect freedom, the Constitution and the rights of the individual.
If people want to wear a security blanket mask, no one will stop them. Then there is the People’s Democratic Republic of Oregon. Govno Kate Brown has been acting like a totalitarian tyrant since this the Panicdemic, which is really just a very bad cold, started last year. She has been quick to strip the rights away from people. Now her maladministration is considering making the wearing of a mask permanent. Here are the details from The Federalist:
Oregon state health officials unveiled a new proposal in January which seeks to make temporary mask mandates permanent. The current order, passed in November by the state’s workplace safety department, which requires all employers to implement state-imposed guidelines for social distancing and mask compliance, is set to expire on May 4. Oregon health bureaucrats are now seeking to make the rules permanent.
“Although the rule must be adopted as a permanent rule, its purpose is to address the COVID-19 pandemic,” the proposal reads. “Oregon [Occupational Safety and Health] intends to repeal the rule when it is no longer necessary to address the pandemic.”
Of course, these tyrants don’t actually define when it will be “No longer necessary.” We can take that to mean forever and a day. Of course, the bad cold known as the “China Virus,” which was never really that bad for 99% of the people who contracted it, is winding down.
New COVID cases in Oregon meanwhile, are averaging less than half what they were when the temporary order came into effect last fall. The state saw 769 new cases with a seven-day average of 603 positive tests the day to order was announced on Nov. 6 as they began to rise going into the Thanksgiving holiday. On Wednesday however, the state say 264 new cases with a seven-day average of 284.
There is an old saying. Their are white lies, damn lies and then there are statistics. The Democratic CommuNazis Propaganda Corps loved to tout “Over 500,000 people in America have DIED because of Covid-19!! However, when you dig into the actual statistics, you find that if someone happened to have the Wuhan Flu virus in their system, that was what they dies of. Not cardiac arrest, not a stroke, and most assuredly NOT from the gunshot to the head. The number of people who died of justthe Wuhan Flu is probably less then 15,000.
Meanwhile, more and more of the vaccines are being made available and they should have enough to inoculate everyone who wants it in a few weeks. The plan is to have it available by May 1st, three days before the current mask mandate, (Of questionable legality), expires. Which brings us to their attempt to make this mandate permanent. People are tired of this and have pretty much had it.
The state mask mandates however, which are particularly stringent, are becoming a progressively burdensome issue for a COVID-fatigued public one year into the pandemic. Even outdoor sports teams under state regulations are mandated to wear facial coverings where the arbitrary measure of six-feet distancing cannot be guaranteed.
The whole “Socialist distancing” business was a complete load of crap from day one. It was something dreamed up by some bureaucrat to increase his or her departments standing and budget. It was always just a load of manure. It also makes it virtually impossible for people to actually do anything, which was the entire reason for it in the first place.
On Wednesday, the Register-Guard, a local northwestern newspaper reported on several cross-country teams meeting on their own in the absence of large invitationals to keep the season alive and their students engaged. The outdoor mask requirements however, have caused students to struggle despite their happiness to compete.
“It’s tragic to watch,” coach Steve Richards told the paper. “It’s hard as a coach to send your kids out there. There’s been a lot of theorizing about the health risks between wearing a mask and not wearing one, and I can’t speak to those. I just know the looks on their faces. They’re running their guts out.”
Many people, and I happen to be one of them, think that wearing masks constantly is far more detrimental to your health. These masks were never meant to be worn 24/7. I hate them and will only put one on when required by the threat of force. When I have to wear one, such as when I am in a market, as soon as I’m through the checkout and heading out the door, off comes the mask. For athletes who need as much oxygen as they can pull in, masks actually put them at risk.
The state has mandated masks be worn during all practices and competitions for high school sports. It’s a rule many coaches and runners are unhappy with, saying it’s difficult to competitively run 5,000 meters while masks. They also worry it could be dangerous.
‘I have two kids with asthma,’ Junction City coach Shannon McAdams said. ‘Running a 5K is hard enough. Running with a mask on could be detrimental.
Let’s be honest, it could kill you. Anyone who has run or done any kind of exercise knows what it feels like when you are out of breath. The last thing you want is anything obstructing your ability to breath. The simple fact is, the mandate the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health department wants to jam down people’s throats is nothing more then yet another power grab.
The Maladministration of Kate Brown has driven a large chunk of the state resident to look at breaking up Oregon. A number of counties are looking to join with Idaho, and it can all be chalked up to the tyrannical actions of the Govno and the state’s legislature. Due to most of the people living in the cities, they have gained to much control and are using it to impose their views on others. (Most “Deplorables” are of the live and let live, just leave me alone variety) I have no idea if this latest power grab will be imposed or not. We shall see.
