Now it’s 450 Americans abandoned in Afghanistan

Good day all. When President Bumbles Dementia did the Biden Bugout from Afghanistan, there were credible reports that hundreds, potentially thousands of Americans had been abandoned and left for the Taliban.

The State Department promptly dismissed this and said that, at best, 100 people were left behind and besides, they didn’t want to leave anyway. Shortly thereafter, private citizens and members of Congress began working to rescue Americans and Legal Resident Aliens who were trapped in the country and were trying to get out. Last week, (November 3rd), the State Department said that maybe it was about 350 or so. Now, the Pentagon has announced that at least 450 American Citizens had been abandoned. Here are the details from Fox News:

The Pentagon stated Tuesday, (October 26th), that nearly 450 American citizens are still in Afghanistan following August’s U.S. military withdrawal, more than the Biden administration has previously claimed.

The latest tally came from Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl, after Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., pointed to what he believed were contradictory or at least “confusing” numbers that the administration has presented since the August 31 withdrawal.

“One of the many confusing things about this whole thing is that we really don’t know how many Americans are left in Afghanistan,” Inhofe said. “The administration’s number of U.S. citizens left in Afghanistan keeps changing. We all understand that. It’s very confusing.”

Confusing? It’s not confusing in the least. The maladministration has been both ignoring anyone in Afghanistan, or their families in the United States that have been trying to get answers and help from the State Department. As for those who have managed to get out, the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security have been actively blocking them from getting home. Why you might ask? Because it makes President Dementia and his maladministration look bad.

This total of 439 American citizens still in Afghanistan is up from the 363 the State Department had told congressional staff last week – which itself was up from the estimate of roughly 100 the administration had said in September.

At a press briefing Friday, State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the number of Americans who actually wished to leave was at one point below 100 but was now between 100 and 200 amid a fluid situation on the ground.

“That figure has risen in recent days as more Americans in Afghanistan have decided to depart in light of our successful facilitation of dozens of departures in recent weeks,” he said.

A fluid situation on the ground? How about the flat out incompetence of everyone involved with the evacuation, both civilian and military. The Joint Chief’s of Staff should have flat out said no to sneaking out of Bagram Airbase. If we had stayed there, we could have gotten fare more people out, Americans, Green card and Visa holders and those who are now under a death sentence and are hiding from the Taliban.

Of course, standing up to President Meat Puppet and his string pullers would have required something seriously lacking on the part of the JCS. That would be honor and courage. If Dementia Joe, or those who are pulling his strings would not listen, then the entire JCS should have resigned. That would have thrown a major wrench into Bumbles Dementia’s desire to screw things up yet again.

Price said that so far the State Department had facilitated the departure of 234 citizens and 144 lawful permanent residents. On Tuesday, Kahl said that number was 240 American citizens and 157 lawful permanent residents, but that those numbers climb to 314 and 266, respectively, when taking into account those who got out via alternative means like private charters and not through the U.S. government.

The State Department has done no such thing. It has been members of Congress working with private groups that have been getting people out, usually over the objections of the Striped Pants Brigade of Foggy Bottom. We may never know how many people were actually abandoned by President Bumbles Dementia and his maladministration. The Meat Puppet has already walked away from the people he left behind. All he cares about is his ice cream.

The Fall of Kabul and the Biden Bugout certainly won’t be investigated with the current congress and this maladministration. It might be years before a full accounting is conducted. However, I do think that there will be an accounting. There are certainly a number of people who should be jailed over what happened. Hopefully, they will be.
