Good day all. This is a single source story with a few links to the usual Fake News sites, so take it with a grain of salt. The Ukraine, of course, has no problems talking to the Russians regarding a cease fire and removal of all their surviving forces from the Ukraine.
The problem appears to be that the Bumbles Dementia maladministration is opposed to President Zelenskyy doing any negotiating and instead wants him to leave the Ukraine. (Zelenskyy told Dementia Joe to send ammo, not a taxi) Here are the details from The Conservative Treehouse:
Amid an intense conflict continuing, the government of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin are in negotiations for a meeting. However, the U.S. State Department does not want Zelenskyy and Putin to negotiate an end to hostilities.
“Ukraine and Russia are discussing a place and time for talks, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s spokesman said on social media on Friday. “Ukraine was and remains ready to talk about a ceasefire and peace,” spokesman Sergii Nykyforov added
I don’t have a problem with this of course. It was the Ukraine that was invaded by the evil fascist totalitarian forces of Darkness, aka Putin and Russia. As the late, great prime minister of Great Britain, Winston Spencer Churchill once said, “Jaw Jaw is better than War War.” The problem is the United States Department of State under the incompetent Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.
Unfortunately for Zelenskyy, an end to the fighting would be against the interests of the Biden administration. Highlighting the point, the U.S. State Department does not want Zelenskyy and Putin to meet. The Biden administration conveys a very telling message, from their perspective, saying only the United States is permitted to negotiate with Russia on behalf of Ukraine. Zelenskyy needs to stay out of it.
WASHINGTON: Russia’s offer for talks with Ukraine is an attempt to conduct diplomacy “at the barrel of a gun”, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said on Friday (Feb 25), saying Russia must stop its bombing in Ukraine if it is serious about diplomacy.
While I have little doubt that Russia is pulling their usual fun and games, I also suspect that they might be looking for a way out of the mess they caused. If reports I’ve been seeing are accurate, the Ukrainians are doing a lot more damage to the Russian forces then anyone expected. One report is that two large Russian transports, IL-76’s, loaded with Russian paratroops were shot down while fully loaded. There are other reports of entire tank columns being destroyed and that Russian casualties are in the thousands killed.
Russia had attempted to engage in “a pretense of diplomacy” even as it prepared to invade Ukraine this week, Price told reporters at a news briefing. “Now we see Moscow suggesting that diplomacy take place at the barrel of a gun, or as Moscow’s rockets, mortars, artillery target the Ukrainian people,” he said. “This is not real diplomacy. Those are not the conditions for real diplomacy.”
I wonder what this idiot considers to be “Real” diplomacy? Is it similar to what Obama and now Bumbles Dementia engage in? Sending pallet loads of cash to a hostile power and claiming they probably won’t build nuclear weapons?

As far as those scum in the State Department are concerned, they are in charge of what happens to the Ukraine, not the Ukrainians. They tried to get the president out and into exile so they can cause the collapse of any resistance and see how to “divvy up” the country.
The U.S. wants President Zelenskyy to leave Ukraine, so the State Department can take full control over the narrative. Zelenskyy is refusing to leave.
President Zelenskyy, when offered a ride out of then country responded that he didn’t need a ride, he needed anti-tank missiles. This war is directly due to the weakness, incompetence and flat out stupidity of Dementia Joe Biden and his “team” of morons, moonbats, globalists and progressives. It makes sense that they want to control any negotiations with Putin. It’s all about making themselves look good for their Nobel prizes. They need all resistance to collapse as soon as possible.
This brings up another issue that is screwing with the maladministration’s “Narrative.” The Ukrainians are not rolling over and surrendering. They are putting up a very stiff resistance and are handing out weapons to pretty much everyone. The Russians have not been able to take the capitol, Kyiv, and the story I’m hearing is if they hold out over the weekend, the Russians are in serious trouble.
It seems the Russians have been taking far heavier losses than they anticipated, and are having supply issues. They’re resorting to firing missiles into the cities and aren’t hitting actual military targets. I assume they are also running into a problem with Ukrainian partisans attacking their supply trucks. Without fuel, all those tanks and APC’s stop running and become useless doorstops. (Also targets for anyone with an RPG)
Putin has been making additional threats to Sweden and Finland if they should try and join NATO. The first question is, have they even asked about it? The second question is why would they want to? Sweden has been historically neutral forever it seems and the last time the Russians went after Finland, they were shot to pieces. They only reason they were successful in any way was the Finns basically running out of ammunition. Attacking either country would be a flat out disaster for Russia and Putin.
Of course, with President Bumbles Dementia, Putin could simply offer to discuss terms of acquisition of the two countries and that adult diaper wearing dumbbell would probably throw in a pallet load of cash and the state of Alaska. Yes, he is that stupid.
Keep holding out Ukraine. Make the Russians bleed.
