Secretary of Transportation Buttplug’s brilliant idea for high gas prices

Good day all. Like everyone else, I’m furious at the price of fuel, and want something done about it. The easiest, not to mention best way is for the maladministration to undo all the damage to the energy sector they’ve done since January 20th 2021.

Energy, Jobs, Politics

That isn’t what the Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttplug has in mind. The failed mayor of South Bend, Indiana, was selected by the failed president, Dementia Joe Biden to head up the Transportation Department. As the Secretary, Buttplug was in the forefront of working to alleviate the supply chain problems. He did this by going on vacation for 6 months.

After failing miserably at that, he recently held a press conference on how Americans could best deal with the rising costs of fuel. Here is what that moron said from Fox Business News:

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Monday said the American people stand to benefit from having more electric vehicles on the road but failed to elaborate on how they could become more affordable at a time when gas prices nationwide were hitting record levels.

Buttigieg spoke during a press conference unveiling the Biden administration’s expensive plan to develop electric public buses. While touting the benefits of clean transportation, Buttigieg remarked that Americans from “rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV.”

Buttplug, as usual, and like anyone on the Progressive Liberal Democratic Communazi side of the political aisle, has absolutely no idea about anything involving things like engineering, physics or reality. There are a number of issues with electric cars. First, the power grid in the United States simply can’t handle the number of cars this moron wants to see on the roads in America.

Second, there are real technical issues with these cars, primarily around energy storage. While the range of these cars has gotten better, they still have issues dealing with long distances and cold weather. Then there are the batteries for these things. They use expensive rare earth materials, most of which is controlled by hostile powers such as Communist China. Those batteries can’t be recycled, (at least with current technology) Then there is the time it takes to recharge them. Finally, and this is the big one, there is the cost of buying them.

Although the cost of electric vehicles has come down in recent years, they still remain out of reach for millions of Americans, with an average price hovering around $50,000

That’s at the very low end. I’m not any expert on these, but I took a quick look at Tesla’s web site. I didn’t bother doing more then looking at the base price, but they started at $50K and went up…a lot from there. I understand that you will also need to buy a few other items, like a charging station that can also power the electric chair in Alcatraz. Most people will not be able to afford them, and the costs to charge them are generally not lower then the cost of gas. (Which is why the maladministration is fine with the price going into low earth orbit)

Now I’m not opposed to electric cars. They have a lot of get up and go. The problem is the battery technology just isn’t there yet, and may never get “there.” To be competitive with the internal combustion engine, it will need to have about the same range along with the ability to be recharged in 5-10 minutes.

Personally, I think the future will be Hydrogen. Possibly some sort of fuel cell that generates electricity, or directly burning it like natural gas. The issues for either of those is storing the hydrogen and cracking water into oxygen and hydrogen. Whoever makes the breakthroughs in any of these technologies is going to be able to buy a small continent. For now, all we can do is “Drill baby DRILL!” (And get rid of Buttplug)
