CDC Spied on 20 million mobile phone users

Good day all. The Centers for Disease Control has been coming increasing levels of oversight and skepticism over the last year and a half. They have been knocked down by the courts repeatedly over their abuse of their authority. Their complete contempt for the Constitution and the rights of the People is being reported daily. (Just not by the Mainstream Media)

Now we have this little tidbit. It seems that the CDC decided that CDC decided it would be a terrific idea to use mobile phone data to see who wasn’t obeying their diktats. Here are the details from the American Military News:

The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) purchased access to a vast trove of data collected from the phones of millions of Americans, to monitor overall compliance with COVID-19 lockdown orders throughout the country.

VICE first reported on the CDC’s actions after obtaining internal agency documents through a freedom of information act (FOIA) request. The CDC documents state the database is “derived from at least 20 million active cellphone users per day across the United States” to provide a geographically representative sample to study lockdown compliance.

There is so much wrong with this, I don’t know where to begin. I’ve been reading through the Vice story and it shows to me just how contemptuous of the Civil Rights of Americans this bureaucracy is. If you want to read all the technical details, I suggest starting there.

According to VICE, the documents specifically show the CDC used the data to monitor curfew compliance. A 2021 document states the data “has been critical for ongoing response efforts, such as hourly monitoring of activity in curfew zones or detailed counts of visits to participating pharmacies for vaccine monitoring.”

And why is it the CDC’s business to know these things? And as for people going to pharmacies that are also doing Covid testing and jabbing, there are a lot of people who go in to these places for a lot of reasons not having anything to do with the Fauci Bioweapon. As to how they got this data, they bought it.

The CDC reportedly purchased the commercially available data from a company called SafeGraph. The company gave the CDC access to one year of data for $420,000.

Now this is what True the Vote did in the new Dinesh D’Souza film, 2000 mules. However, they were far more narrow with their requests, and were looking for very specific patterns, (Which they seem to have found) In the case of True the Vote, they were looking for evidence of voter fraud using the tools that law enforcement would use. (From what I’ve been reading, they’ve been even tighter with the requirements then law enforcement would be) As to the CDC? I don’t see any reason for them to spend one thin dime of Taxpayer money on this.

In a document describing its data procurement plan, the CDC said “This is an URGENT COVID-19 PR [procurement request].”

The agency further called for data to monitor people visiting K-12 schools, pharmacies and grocery stores. Another portion of the procurement request states that the agency plans to “Research points of interest for physical activity and chronic disease prevention such as visits to parks, gyms, or weight management businesses.”

I still have a problem seeing what business it is of the Centers for Disease Control to track phones of people, unless the data isn’t being anonymized and they can tell who the phone belongs to.

The procurement document also describes monitoring the correlations between rises in COVID cases and mass gatherings, public transit, and popular travel destinations. The data would also study changes in COVID cases correlating with changing lockdown measures.

While the CDC described its initial request for phone data as a means of tracking lockdown compliance, the agency could use this type of data for expanded purposes in the future.

The CDC seems to have purposefully created an open-ended list of use cases, which included monitoring curfews, neighbor to neighbor visits, visits to churches, schools and pharmacies,” cybersecurity researcher Zach Edwards told VICE. “And also a variety of analysis with this data specifically focused on ‘violence.’”

And there it is. The CDC wants to use this as a tool to enforce their totalitarian ideas on America. They have long been known to try and gin up data on firearms so that their progressive masters could use it to basically gut the 2nd Amendment. As I mentioned above, the CDC has been slapped down for their heavy handed approach to the Panicdemic.

They first issued an order forbidding evictions for nonpayment of rent, which was a flat out violation of the 5th Amendment. (It’s not just protect you from being forced to confess) Recently, their mask mandate for all public transportation was deemed unconstitutional and that they did not have the authority to issue the mandate.

I don’t see any reason for the CDC to be gathering this data unless they intend to use it to further suppress the constitutional rights of the American People. The similar use by True the Vote was limited and they are using it as a potential tool for criminal investigations. (Showing the police that “Hey guys! We’re seeing something nefarious here!) Law enforcement would then go through the proper legal channels, (Writs, Warrants, etc), and then, if the information proved out, arrest people.

The CDC has no such authority. They are not a law enforcement agency, they have no authority to arrest people and there is no real reason for them to have this information. I think that Senator Rand Paul might want to look into this next year when the Republicans, if as expected, take control of the senate. It may be time to rethink funding this department. At the very least, there appears to be a lot of people who need to be fired and blocked from ever working for the Government again.
