Liberal stupidity at it’s finest: “Biden must stop falling gas prices!”

Good day all. There are things you can always rely on. The sun rising in the east and setting in the west. Summer being hot and winter being cold, and liberals being dumber than rocks.

Since the installation of the worst president* in American History into the Oval office, energy prices have been skyrocketing. This is due to the incompetence, stupidity and senility of Joe Bumbles Dementia Biden. Recently, gas prices hit and exceeded $5/gallon nationally. They have since come down a bit, but gas and diesel fuel prices are still far higher the they should be.

However, for the Progressive Liberal religious fanatics of the Church of Global Warming Climate Change, the last thing they want is for energy prices to come down. In an opinion piece published by Bloomberg Eduardo Porter demanded that Dementia Joe force gas prices above $5 a gallon forever. Here are some of the details from Fox News:

Bloomberg opinion published a piece Wednesday calling for President Biden to increase gas prices, intentionally and forever, in order to hasten a transition to alternate forms of energy. The op-ed, written by columnist Eduardo Porter, called for a “$5-a-gallon floor on gasoline prices.”

Porter described the policy as “one bold move” that would put a “real dent” in “the emission of heat-trapping carbon dioxide that is causing such havoc with the weather,” although he admitted it was unlikely the president would make it.

“As any economist will tell him, the most efficient way to reduce fossil fuel consumption is to raise its price relative to alternatives, encouraging people and businesses to switch to cleaner sources and use less energy altogether,” Porter wrote.

I set up a throwaway account so I could read the actual opinion piece on Bloomberg. This guy, to put it bluntly, is an idiot. I found his biography, and he is a classic Manhattan Marxist. (Or Brooklyn bonehead, since that seems to be where he lives now) If he even knows how to drive, I would be surprised. He obviously has no idea how things actually work, which would make him a typical economist.

He has also drunk deeply from the Global Warming Kool-Ade, and, like all religious fanatics, is trying to force his beliefs, since he is on the “Right Side” on everyone else. He also doesn’t seem to be considering that CO2 is also required to keep this planet alive. It’s other name is “PLANT FOOD!”

Increasing the price of gas is not the same as increasing the price of the CO2 it releases into the atmosphere when burnt, but it’s close enough. The beauty of this moment for the president is that he wouldn’t have to deploy any political capital for this to happen. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine already did the trick — sending the average retail price of gasoline above $5 a gallon in early June. All Biden must do is keep it from falling back.

He then demonstrates his hatred of cars and trucks, especially trucks.

Cars and trucks account for 22% of US carbon emissions. Gas prices in the $5 range would inevitably trim their contribution. For instance, driving a Ford F-150 at $5 a gallon would set the average driver back by about $281 a month, assuming a fuel economy of 20 miles per gallon over 13,474 miles driven per year. That is about $85 a month more than if gas had stayed at $3.50, where it was in early February, before Vladimir Putin sent troops into Ukraine.

It looks like he is a big supporter of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, in as much as it’s raised the costs of energy he doesn’t like.

Cutting back on driving is not easy. People must get to work and school. Not everybody can switch to public transit or buy a Tesla. Still, economists at the Dallas Fed have estimated that the price elasticity of gasoline demand in the short run is around negative 0.37. So a 43% price hike, from $3.5 to $5 a gallon, would cut gas consumption by about 16%.

Actually, no it wouldn’t. What it would do is force people to cut back on other things. Like most people who have lived most or all of their lives in an urban setting, this moron has no idea how people do things outside of cities. He also has no idea about where food comes from. (He probably says the corner market) Continuing with Bloomberg, he spews out lots of interesting statistics which are completely meaningless. What he does admit is the damage high energy prices will do.

Higher energy prices will eat into consumers’ pocketbooks and slow the economy. What’s important for the president to understand is we have no choice. Fossil fuels must become more expensive. Lacking perfect zero-carbon alternatives that we could switch to cheaply at scale, we must recognize that higher energy prices are an inescapable component of any strategy to mitigate climate change.

I wonder if this bonehead has actually bothered to do any research into CO2 levels in the geological record. Back in the time of the dinosaurs, there was a heck of a lot more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere then there is today. It didn’t bother the dinosaurs all that much. Returning to the Fox News article:

Porter argued that a $5 gas floor would reduce carbon emissions from cars and trucks. Despite these aspirations, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry continues to fly on private jets, emitting over 300 metric tons of carbon since Biden became president.

Oh I’m sure that this Progressive Liberal bozo has no problems with Ketchup Boy Kerry spewing Cot all over the place. After all, he is one of the “Special People” who are best suited to run everyone else’s lives.

Further, Porter called for a gas tax to further decrease demand. “While consistently high gas prices would encourage more drilling over the long term — not quite the desired outcome from a climate change perspective — imposing a tax to boost the retail price at the pump would eat into consumer demand without incentivizing further supply.”

“Higher energy prices will eat into consumers’ pocketbooks and slow the economy,” Porter admitted. “What’s important for the president to understand is we have no choice. Fossil fuels must become more expensive.”

I wonder if this incompetent idiot has considered what the high fuel prices are doing to the costs for little things he might not consider important, such as food. High diesel fuel prices make farming more expensive, and may drive a lot of smaller farms out of business. Even the big “Agribiz” farms will find it difficult to produce the levels of food to prevent shortages. Then there is the issue of getting all that food to the markets. That requires trucks. Lots and lots of trucks, all burning fossil fuels.

My guess is he hasn’t considered it, or is just fine with all the lower classes starving to death, as long as he and the rest of the “Intellectual elite” survive. While I didn’t see anything about this from this loser, I suspect he also hates the suburbs and rural areas that a lot of people prefer. He probably thinks the idea of “Mega cities” where they jam everyone in to cities is how we should proceed.

People like Eduardo Porter are idiots. They do not live in the real world, and if they actually had to live the way most people do, he would quickly run screaming back to big daddy government to save him. I’ve been reading the comments section on his Bloomberg post, and it’s interesting to read them. You have people just like Porter who appear to be just as clueless as he is, and others who actually understand how things really work. Basically, it all boils down to one thing. Like all Progressive Liberals, Porter wants a totalitarian government where he and others like him are running things. He absolutely can not stand that people might want to live their lives in ways he objects to. He certainly hates the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump and despises all those Ultra MAGA Deplorable bitter Clinger who support him.

Porter is a complete waste of precious oxygen, and the amounts of Carbon Dioxide he generates with his Progressivism far exceeds that which I may produce with my 11 years old pickup truck. (Which has a very scratched up and gouged bed liner, showing that it has been used to carry things) He should just do us all a favor and move to a country that does everything he wants. North Korea comes to mind.
