Good day all. For decades, at least as far back, (If not further), as the Nixon administration, the Main Stream Media, (MSM), have been actively hostile to the Republican Party and the basic tenets of the United States. In the last 20 years, it’s gotten to the point that the MSM does nothing more then push propaganda from the Democrat Party.

Up until the advent of the Internet, people were pretty limited in how they received their news and information. You had three over the air networks, a few national papers and local newspapers. The networks basically had a lock on what was made available to the people. When the Internet came of ages in the 90’s, and people started going online in ever greater numbers, the “Gatekeepers of the MSM started to see some competition, however they ignored that the world was changing.
Then came Monica Lewinski and her infamous Blue Dress. For those who might not remember, Lewinski was an intern in the Clinton White House and was giving blow jobs to Slick Willy. The blue dress ended up with some DNA and instead of sending it to the dry cleaners, she kept it as a memento.
The story was developed by one of the MSM magazines, News Week I believe, and in order to protect the Democrat President, the story was spiked. Matt Drudge, who had just started the Drudge Report, got his hands on the story and it blew up all over the place. This was the story that made Matt Drudge and the Drudge Report the “Go to” site for 20 years. (The Drudge Report is now dying a slow death and it appears that Drudge is actually no longer affiliated with it)
You also had the rise of Talk Radio and Rush Limbaugh. The Liberals had generally ignore radio, and with the well deserved death of the Fairness Doctrine, the Conservative movement moved in and filled a huge hole that the rest of the MSM had been ignoring. Moving forward, President Bush II came into office with a very hostile media. That went into abeyance for a while after 911, but soon returned. Bush refused to fight back against the media attacks on him, which was the standard response for most of the Republican Party at the time.
Finally, we had the rise of the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump. When he announced he was running, the MSM basically considered it to be a joke. Instead they ignored him at first, and then thought it would help the election of Felonia von Pantsuit if Donald Trump was the nominee. There was just one problem. Felonia was a corrupt bitch and utterly incompetent on the campaign trail. Donald Trump won.

With that, the gloves came off, (Not that they were ever really on in the first place), and the MSM launched one attack after the other against President Trump. However, things were a bit different. President Trump was not acting like the standard Republican spineless squish. He fought back and hard.

This caught the MSM off guard and they launched one attack after the other against President Trump. In fact, many of the leftist news organizations were caught flat out lying about President Trump, and not just Donald Trump. There was also the Covington Students debacle with Nick Sandmann. The lies against Nick Sandmann were so egregious that he sued. CNN was forced to settle for an undisclosed, but probably “Really BIG!” Settlement.
Now, thanks to President Trump, Republicans have decided that sucking up to the MSM is a complete waste of time. It’s finally sunk in that the MSM hates Republicans, Conservatives and the United States and has no interest in reporting actual news. Instead they will publish whatever the Democrat Party tells them to and manufacture stories regarding Republicans. Because of this, The GOP have started ignoring the old Line MSN journalists and are talking with news organizations that actually try and keep their reporting balanced. Here are the details from Fox News. (Who are now falling into the MSM orbit):
Media outlets have begun to fume at Republicans for ignoring or bypassing their questions and requests for interviews.
The trend began with New York Magazine’s Intelligencer writer David Freedlander publishing a piece describing “Why Republicans Stopped Talking to the Press” on Monday. Freedlander explained that possible Republican presidential hopefuls such as Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., have been avoiding mainstream media to the point of actually inviting their scorn.
“This view — that approval from the mainstream press isn’t just unnecessary but actually suspect — is one that has come to dominate GOP politics in the Trump era. And while railing against the so-called liberal media has long been a part of the Republican playbook, more than a dozen GOP campaign operatives, senior Hill aides, and political reporters from major news outlets say the past few years have brought something new: actively courting the media’s scorn while avoiding anything that may be viewed as consorting with the enemy,” Freedlander wrote.
That sounds like a case of sour grapes to me. As I said, the Republicans, for decades, would make noises about how biased the MSM was, but when push came to shove, they would not hesitate to drop their pants and bend over to them. Those days are now over and the MSM is not happy about it.
Since Freedlander’s article was published, other media sites printed their own pieces on the growing animosity between Republicans and the mainstream press.
Although recent polls have suggested a record low level of trust for newspapers and TV media, Vanity Fair’s Charlotte Klein emphasized this change in attitude towards mainstream press came mostly from the influence of Richard Nixon and former President Trump.
“As Freedlander notes, Republicans for decades, going back to the Nixon years, have taken aim at the mainstream press, but the dynamic has ratcheted up since Donald Trump’s political rise, evidenced by a lack of participation by Republicans in everything from political profiles to daily news stories—as well as comments from those advising them,” Klein wrote on Tuesday.
Most of today’s MSM Propagandists weren’t even alive when Nixon was president. All they know about it is the movie “All the President’s Men.” Today’s Journalism School graduates have no real idea how to actually report news. In their minds, all Republicans are evil and anything they can do to bring them down is a good thing.
Klein also lamented that the “future of presidential debates also remains to be seen” based on the Republican National Committee voting in April to withdraw from the Commission on Presidential Debates.
Gee, I wonder why the GOP pulled out of the debates set up by that group? Could it be that they were patently biased in favor of the Democrats and would make sure that any Democrat contender was protected, and that the Republican contender was crushed?
The Washington Post’s David Weigel dived into a deeper analysis of the phenomenon on Tuesday, noting that Republicans are likely going to alternative media outlets that are probably more favorable to the party.
“As the number of local media outlets shrink, and as alternative media outlets boom, Republicans are finding less use for what they disparagingly call ‘fake news’ — or, more diplomatically, the ‘legacy media.’ Social media, and decades of investment in conservative outlets, have made it easy to reach voters outside of the ‘legacy’ filter,” Weigel wrote.
This is a repeat of what happened, to a far greater degree with the rise of Talk Radio. People started seeing the other side of the story, as it were, and became fed up with the “Legacy Media’s” not reporting honestly, or in many cases, at all on what actually interested people. Add to that, the repeated falsehoods and just plain laziness of many so called journalists, and people just walked away. Needless to say, the MSM, aka the Progressive Liberal Democrat Propaganda Corps is very unhappy with Republicans telling them to get lost.
Politico’s Jack Shafer was particularly critical of Republican candidates in his Thursday article “Unsolicited Advice for the Pouty Republicans Who Stiff Reporters.” In the piece, he called out Republicans for speaking with “friendly conservative outlets” and “freezing the press out.”
“Pegging their pieces to the brush-off Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is currently giving to the mainstream press — who even refused to cooperate with the New Yorker for a recent profile — the pieces conclude that Republicans figure nothing good comes from talking to the press, so why bother? Take the easy path by speaking with friendly conservative outlets, their thinking goes, and depend on social media and their own podcasts to reach the masses. Even President Barack Obama, no Republican he, saw the good politics in freezing the press out,” Shafer wrote.
Obama only froze out the media when they would, occasionally, stray from the progressive plantation and actually do some real reporting. As for Politco, while I do, on occasion, use them as a reference point for something I’m posting, they are firmly in the tank for the Democrat Party.
He also warned, “The stand-off between Republican candidates and the press is likely to expand before it contracts. But that’s in the short term. Making the media the enemy has a way of boomeranging on politicians.”
In your dreams buddy. The Republicans aren’t freezing out all of the media, just those who habitually lie, editorialize in their stories and make no attempt at honest reporting. The basic style of the “Lame Stream Media” is If you have nothing good to say about Republicans, say it loudly across multiple platforms. Now that there are actual sites trying to report actual news, instead of making things up, the Republicans are going to talk to them instead.
DeSantis’ press secretary, Christina Pushaw, pushed back on the article through her Twitter account shortly after it was published.
“Hi @jackshafer! FYI, you are wrong about the reason @GovRonDeSantis doesn’t talk to liberal media, including Politico. He isn’t worried about “negative press”; you’re always negative. It’s just that he doesn’t care. And he doesn’t want to give you clicks or ratings,” Pushaw tweeted.
She also followed up writing, “As a media reporter for Politico, I am sure @jackshafer understands why we wouldn’t ‘cooperate with the New Yorker’. @GovRonDeSantis giving them an interview would’ve allowed a liberal activist to break news, self promote, and make money off #DeSantisForClicks. We aren’t playing.”
“Sorry @jackshafer but no, we don’t need this. Media get MORE obsessive when we don’t talk to them. Nobody trusts ‘mainstream’ media anymore. Everyone uses social media. Also, @GovRonDeSantis does press conferences and TV channels in FL live stream. Your gatekeeper days are over,” she concluded.
One of the things President Trump did, which drove the MSM insane, was just bypass them. He would go on Twitler and say something or point to a site that the MSM flat out ignored. The New York Slimes or the Washington ComPost would launch some sort of attack against President Trump or his policies, pretending that it was “Just news” and President Trump would bypass them and go straight to the American People.

Of course, the Morons of the MSM refuse to accept that it’s their fault no one believes them any longer.
Fellow New York Magazine’s Intelligencer writer Jonathan Chait previously attacked Republican assertions that the media is heavily biased against them as opposed to liberals. He also warned that without “media accountability” Republicans would “govern like a one party state.”

These Moonbats are completely out of touch with the rest of America. In fact, they tend to refer to most of the nation as “Flyover country,” meaning that they are unimportant and just a blank spot on the map between the East and Left coasts. They regularly insult people in middle America and consider them to be nothing more then racist trailer trash.
Back when Nixon ran for reelection, he blew out the Democrat nominee George McGovern, winning 49 of 50 states including New York. There was a film critic, one Pauline Kael, who was reported to have said:
“I can’t believe Nixon won. I don’t know anyone who voted for him.”
This quote has been used for decades by Republicans to show just how out of touch many in the Media actually are. However, a little digging by John Podhoretz came up with what may be the actual quote:
‘I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater I can feel them.’”
Both quotes, whichever one is the correct one, show just what many in the Media are like. Completely out of touch with what is going on, and having no conception of what most people deal with on a day to day basis. The MSM is all about “Global Warming!” and “Man Caused Climate Change!” They refuse to consider that many people, both men and women, think abortion is wrong, and will say that people who don’t support abortion up to the 24th month are mentally ill and should be locked up for their own good.
Their rants against gun owners and the NRA, people who drive SUV’s and Pick-ups along with people who want their children to be taught how to read, write, math and history and not have them indoctrinated with leftist garbage are loud and legendary. The response from what the MSM refers to as “Those racist Ultra MAGA Deplorables” has been simple. They’ve turned off the network news as well as CNN, and they’ve canceled their subscriptions to periodicals that hate them.

Now the Republican Party has seen the light and is joining the party. They are fine talking to actual reporters, men and women who simply report what they have observed, even if these reporters find something about the Republican in question. They don’t editorialize in their stories. The Left-wing Journalists who make up the old MSM see their role as “Educating the ignorant masses for their own good.” Well, guess what? Those masses have moved on, and your advertisers are going with them.
