Washington ComPost announces that we need to keep old people from being president

Good day all. It looks like the Progressives have decided that Dementia Joe must go. They are also flat out terrified that the Greatest President of the 21st century, Donald Trump, might win reelection in 2024. They have come up with a splendidly stupid idea. Prevent old people from running.

The author of the commentary is one Charles Lane. His columns are paywalled, so only the truly daft, who want to give Jeff Bezos more money to read manure, will see it. However, Fox News has done the needful and provided the amusing details. Basically, it looks like Lane is fine with throwing Biden under the bus as long as it keeps President Trump from taking office again. Here are the detail from Fox News:

Fearful that either former President Trump or President Biden could get the presidency for a second term, Washington Post columnist Charles Lane argued for a constitutional amendment that would put an age cap on anyone seeking presidential office.

Besides keeping the office available to those with full mental capacity and less tendency for injury, Lane argued such an amendment would also be easier to use to block Trump from office than the January 6 hearings, and may prove more efficient than trying to invoke the 25th Amendment for future presidents.

And there is the real reason that Lane wants an amendment to the constitution. He wants to keep the Greatest President of the 21st Century from becoming an even greater president. Of course, there are some issues with getting an amendment passed. At best, it will take several years for it to be ratified by the states, and quite frankly, the legislatures will look at this and go “WTF, Over?” and toss it into the nearest trash receptacle.

Lane began his Thursday, (August 4th), piece recounting how a majority of voters “are not excited” to see Trump or Biden run again in 2024. He wrote, “A CNN poll in late July found that three-quarters of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters wish the party would nominate someone other than Biden, while 55 percent of Republicans and Republican leaners do not want Trump as their standard-bearer.”

I wonder where this barking moonbat is getting that statistic on President Trump? I’m sure it’s from the same place he takes a dump in the morning, and from the same source.

Lane lamented that a rematch between the two is still “possibly the likeliest” scenario, so he proposed his idea: “If only the Constitution had the following proviso: ‘No person who has attained the age of 75 years shall be eligible for election to the Office of President.’”

“That would bar second-term bids by both Biden, 79, and Trump, 76, forcing the country to pass the torch to a new generation, or at least someone born after the 1940s,” he declared.

There is another problem with this idea. Medical science has progressed significantly since the Constitution was written. Back then, someone making it to 75 would have been an outlier. Today, we have people who go skydiving in their 80’s. Who knows where things will stand in another 50 years? Certainly not this ageist Moonbat.

Lane made it clear that he favors the idea of the amendment as more of a way to end the political career of the former president than keeping the gaffe-prone Biden from office. “Precluding another four years of Biden would be a small price to pay for a never-Trump guarantee. Who knows? For that worthy objective, Biden himself might agree to sacrifice a shot at reelection,” he added.

Obviously, Lane has no idea what a self-centered jerk Dementia Joe has always been. He won’t step aside unless forced to.

The columnist admitted that a scenario in which such an amendment is passed prior to the 2024 election is unlikely. Either way, he argued the amendment should be pursued in the future.

If you want to go that route, then we should also limit the age people can be in congress, or be on the bench. We should also have age limits on the head of the NIH. I’m sure you have no objection in forcing Fauci out because he’s to old.

“Sooner or later, though, there should be serious consideration of setting a maximum age at which anyone may be elected president or vice president.”

“The simple scientific fact is that, on average, human physical and mental capabilities diminish as we age. And the stubborn political fact is that, unlike prime ministers in a parliamentary system, presidents are hard to replace between general elections without a crisis,” Lane asserted.

Making it difficult to force out a president is a feature nimrod, not a bug.

Arguing for why 74 is the “sensible” age cutoff, he stated, “Given that risks — illness, injury, cognitive decline — grow with age, and that the presidency requires a full-time, fully capable occupant, the 75-year rule would ‘de-risk’ the office and, by extension, the political system as a whole.”

I think it’s safe to say that this idea is going to be put with so many ideas. In the trash. The only reason this clown came up with the idea of amending the Constitution to prevent older Americans from holding office is his blind hatred of President Trump and everything he stands for. Yes, President Trump will be in his late 70’s if he runs and wins again. However, unlike Dementia Joe, Donald Trump has all his metal faculties and has excellent stamina. Just look at all the rallies he’s been holding.

There is also another issue for President Bumbles Dementia Biden. He is and has always been…stupid. He has also had serious health issues and has undergone brain surgery twice. (Reports that the first surgery was exploratory in nature to determine if Biden actually has a brain are unfounded) That had to have on effect on his current mental state. Your idea Lane, is typical of the progressive mindset. In general, get rid of those you consider no longer productive, or, in the case of President Trump, you just flat out hate. How about you retire now and not bother anyone else, hmmm?
