Meet one of the censors working for the DHS

Good day all. Recently, the Intercept published a major story detailing how the Department of Homeland Security had been working with Big Tech in general and Twitter in particular to censor opinions that aren’t part of the maladministration’s current doctrine. This is a clear violation of the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.

Now another “fringe” organization has discovered one of the people who have been pushing the suppression of anything that would be considered “Right wing.” Here are the details from War Room:

Dr. Kate Starbird, a researcher who claims social media platforms have a “moral and ethical obligation” to suppress content supporting “right-wing populism,” is leading the Department of Homeland Security’s efforts to counter “misinformation and disinformation,” internal documents reveal.

Starbird also worked with the Election Integrity Partnership, which played a key role in pushing social media platforms to censor conservative users and posts – even at the request of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) – during the 2020 election cycle.

I did a little digging into Starbird. Apparently, she used to play women’s basketball professionally, then went to college and got a degree in Computer Science. Since then she has either been working in academia and the Department of Homeland Security. (I haven’t been able to determine if she is an employee or working as a consultant) She is also a barking mad moonbat and a progressive totalitarian.

The uncovering of Starbird’s aversion to right-wing populism and affiliation with left-leaning groups follows a bombshell report from The Intercept detailing the comprehensive operations carried out by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), an operational component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), to censor Americans on a wide variety of topics.

Additional documents uncovered by WarRoom.org reveal the lead of CISA’s “Protecting Critical Infrastructure from Misinformation & Disinformation” subcommittee, which is responsible for spearheading most of the agency’s censorship work.

First things first and some due diligence. The War Room is primarily a podcast site covering conservative points of view. They post to Rumble.com and I believe they are owned by Steve Bannon. Until I found this story, I hadn’t bothered with them. (I was somewhat aware they existed) Now that this is out of the way, and allows you to judge the validity of the information, we shall now proceed.

Starbird, the leader of the seven-person team which includes Twitter’s former “Chief Censor,” is a University of Washington Professor who co-founded the school’s Center for an Informed Public.

Starbird’s Center for an Informed Public is a leading member of the Election Integrity Partnership, a consortium that coordinated closely with the federal government and Democrats to help social media platforms censor stories during the 2020 election. She has repeatedly dismissed claims that the 2020 election was plagued with fraud.

It isn’t surprising that Starbird would dismiss any evidence that there was anything wrong with the Tainted election of 2020. She is a progressive totalitarian after all, and the issues all went on her side’s favor. I doubt she will change her mind even with all the new information that’s come out over the last two years, culminating with True the Vote and Dinesh D’Souza’s 2000 mules.

The Election Integrity Partnership has come under scrutiny for assembling a system that allowed state actors including the DHS and State Department to flag news stories, subsequently allowing social media platforms to either censor or attach prominent warning labels to the specified stories.

Isn’t that interesting? I wonder if Starbird understands the legal jeopardy she and her organization might be in now? This appears to my unschooled eye to be a deliberate plan to actively suppress the 1st Amendment rights of people at the behest of a government agency. I’m thinking she could end up the target of a massive civil suit, and potentially, (Although not with the current goons in the DoJ), criminal civil rights charges. I’ll let those who are schooled in these legal things comment below.

Among the other groups filing reports through the system were the Democratic National Committee as well as left-wing groups such as Common Cause and the NAACP.

As a result, news outlets targeted by the Election Integrity Partnership included conservative sources such as Breitbart News, Fox News, the New York Post, and the Epoch Times, as well as the social media profiles of prominent conservatives Charlie Kirk, Mark Levin, James O’Keefe, Sean Hannity, and more. Posts from President Donald Trump were also frequently flagged by the group, in addition to his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

Well now, I think we might add some Federal Election law violations on in kind contributions to the potential list of charges, if this is actually criminal. I do think there may be some civil charges. The level of proof in civil court is a lot less then in criminal court. Again, those who know how these things work, the comments are open.

Starbird has also appeared to call for broader efforts to censor “misinformation and disinformation” as part of a campaign to suppress the spread of right-wing populism.

During an April 2021 interview with Alexander Heffner on “The Open Mind,” Starbird was asked about how companies including Twitter and Facebook should navigate political advertisements following the events of January 6th.

In response, Starbird suggested that social media platforms have a “moral and ethical obligation” to suppress content leading to “right-wing populism”:

So this bitch is calling for the suppression of any ideas that she doesn’t like, and those happen to be from people who tend to be more to the center/right of the political spectrum.

Starbird has tweeted similar sentiments, linking the spread of disinformation to the spread of right-wing populism.

We are all vulnerable to disinfo. However, if we look globally at this particular moment, disinformation campaigns (no matter who they target or what particular narrative they push) are functioning to lift and support right-wing populism (& authoritarian power) around the world,” she tweeted in August 2019.

These two-way grievance feedback loops seem to lead to some very dark places. In addition to powering the influencers dynamics in our new media spaces, they seem to be powering (or at least supporting) the rise of populism around the world,” she tweeted in May.

What a load paranoid crap. She then completes the circle on how she wants to deal with opinions that she doesn’t agree with.

When asked about how to “deradicalize” Americans, Starbird insisted “I really think we’re going to have to look further, more broadly in society in terms of how and how we might go about de-radicalization or just like bringing people back together” during the interview.

It never crosses her mind that she may be the one who is radical. Starbird, (And yes, that is her family name and goes back quite a ways. Many served in the military against regimes that espoused exactly what she is pushing. Perhaps she should read George Orwell’s 1984. If she has, then she misunderstood what Orwell was aiming for. His book is not meant to be used as a training manual to suppress the rights of the people.

Sadly, Kate Starbird is typical of the clowns in academia. She lives in a bubble on top of an ivory tower and has no idea what is going on in the world. When she sees anything that she disagrees with, her first thought isn’t to discuss it with the people talking about it. Her first thought is to suppress it and punish people for saying it. Someone needs to sit her down and lay it out for her. She has the same mindset as all of the totalitarian tyrants of the 20th century. Somehow, I doubt that will even sink in with her.
