Good day all. With the recent mess in the House of Representatives, the Biden Maladministration thought this would be a good time to release the report on just how damaging to the economy Dementia Joe Biden’s canceling the KeystoneXL Pipeline was.
The short version, it was bad. It cost the United States 10’s of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars. Those jobs were generally high paying ones, and not a few of them were union jobs. (I’m sure the members are just thrilled with their leadership helping the Democrats gain control of the Government) The actual report was mandated by Congress and was a demand to report on the economic fallout. Here are the details from Fox News:
The Biden administration published a congressionally mandated report highlighting the positive economic benefits the Keystone XL Pipeline would have had if President Biden didn’t revoke its federal permits.
I find it interesting that no one knew about this report. Of course, the last thing the maladministration wanted to do was provide even more proof of what a pack of incompetent communists, (Are there any other kind?), are running things.
The report, which the Department of Energy (DOE) completed in late December without any public announcement, says the Keystone XL project would have created between 16,149 and 59,000 jobs and would have had a positive economic impact of between $3.4-9.6 billion, citing various studies. A previous report from the federal government published in 2014 determined 3,900 direct jobs and 21,050 total jobs would be created during construction which was expected to take two years.
But immediately after taking office in January 2021, Biden canceled the pipeline’s permits, effectively shutting the project down.
“The Biden administration finally owned up to what we have known all along — killing the Keystone XL Pipeline cost good-paying jobs, hurt Montana’s economy and was the first step in the Biden administration’s war on oil and gas production in the United States,” Sen. Steve Daines. R-Mont., said Thursday in a statement. “Unfortunately, the administration continues to pursue energy production anywhere but the United States.”
The only energy that pack of morons are interested in are the kind generated by unicorn farts. That pipeline should have been finished back during the Obama maladministration, but the continued assaults by the Envirowhackos bot in and out of the Obama Regime slowed things down significantly. (Corrupt Obama judges didn’t help matters either) It took the election of the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump, to get things going and even he had to deal with incredibly stupid people.
The DOE was forced to issue the report after Daines and Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho, successfully inserted a bill mandating the report into the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Biden signed into law in November 2021. The agency was required to publish the report within 90 days of the bill’s passage but ultimately waited more than a year before releasing it.
Most of the time, these little riders people insert into bills are usually the sort that cost the Taxpayers a fortune or suppress their constitutional rights. Once in a great while, you do get one that actually accomplishes something, and it looks like this was the case here.
In a statement Thursday, the DOE noted that the project would have had minimal permanent job impacts, but didn’t mention the thousands of jobs that were estimated during the construction of the pipeline.
“The U.S. Department of Energy released a report evaluating existing analysis on economic and job effects of the XL portion of Keystone pipeline,” the DOE told Fox News Digital. “It concluded there were limited job impacts, with approximately 50 permanent jobs estimated to have been created were the pipeline operational.”
There were thousands of construction workers who suddenly lost their jobs that they expected to be ongoing for probably another year or more. This would have allowed them plenty of time to line up their next gig. This also doesn’t take into account all the secondary and tertiary jobs, not to mention all the heavy equipment that needed to be purchased or the spare parts for them.
Biden’s decision to cancel the pipeline has received widespread criticism from Republican lawmakers and energy industry representatives who have argued it would have helped keep gas prices down and ensure energy security.
Biden signed the Executive Order throwing thousands out of work within hours of being installed into office. He signed so many EO’s that day that there is no way he could know what they all were, Considering his degraded mental state, he probably just signed whatever his handlers told him to.
The project labor agreement that TC Energy signed in August 2020 with four labor unions promised the pipeline would create 42,000 American jobs and provide $2 billion in total wages.
This was just another stab in the back of the Union members who voted for Bumbles Dementia Biden. They believed what they were told, that the Democrats and the Senile Pedophile actually were going to institute polices that would “Benefit the working man and woman.”
Joe Bumbles Dementia Biden has once again demonstrated why he should never have been allowed into a position of trust. He can be trusted….to do the exact wrong thing. He took a booming economy, low energy prices and energy self-sufficiency and within days, began driving it right into the ground. Now we have actual evidence of his malfeasance of office.
However, rather then being removed from office, that pathological liar with the IQ of a dead housefly thinks he’s so great he should be reelected to a second term. (It might help if he had actually been elected to a first term) Perhaps the new House of Representatives will actually accomplish something and force that incompetent, corrupt refugee from an Alzheimer’s ward from office.
