Good day all. Last week, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy released all of the videos from the January 6th protest. This has not gone over will with the former members of the committee.
The January 6th committee has pretty much been discredited. It did release some video footage, however people who were there said that it didn’t show what actually happened and had been cherry picked to back up the Progressive Narrative that this was an attempted insurrection.
Now that the Republicans have taken over, they have started digging into things. One of the things they wanted to do was release all the available footage. Speaker Charlie Kevin McCarthy did that, giving Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson some 40,000 hours of recordings. This has set off the committee chairman, (among others), who claims this is a “security risk.” Here are the details from the Daily Wire:
The chairman of the now-defunct January 6 Committee warned of the “potential security risks” of U.S. Capitol security footage being released to the media.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) issued a statement hours after Axios broke the news that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) gave Fox News host Tucker Carlson access to 41,000 hours of Capitol surveillance footage from the Jan. 6, 2021 — the day a crowd of people entered the U.S. Capitol, disrupting lawmakers who were meeting to certify President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.
“When the Select Committee obtained access to U.S. Capitol Police video footage, it was treated with great sensitivity given concerns about the security of lawmakers, staff, and the Capitol complex,” Thompson said.
“Access was limited to members and a small handful of investigators and senior staff, and the public use of any footage was coordinated in advance with Capitol Police. It’s hard to overstate the potential security risks if this material were to be used irresponsibly,” he added.
There are a number of claims regarding what happened that day. We have reports that the Capitol Police actually pulled back the fences and opened the doors to the Capitol building. If this is true, it means that they granted entry to all the people now being illegally held without trial. There are also reports that many of the “Leaders” that led the entry were actually federal agents. The videos may show that what the Democrats claimed was an insurrection was actually a set up by the FBI.
Claiming that Carlson is a purveyor of misinformation, Thompson said McCarthy “owes the American people an explanation of why” he shared the footage with the Fox News host and “what steps he has taken to address the significant security concerns at stake.”
First, I’m assuming that Carlson’s people have taken no steps whatsoever other than to keep the chain of custody valid. As for Thompson accusing Tucker Carlson of “Misinformation?” He should talk. Of course, that comment is meant to lay the groundwork that anything that goes against the narrative is wrong and needs to be suppressed. I’m sure Thompson is on the phone to his friends at Twitter to shut down Tucker Carlson’s twitter account.
Tucker Carlson said that he doesn’t believe there was any legitimate reason to keep the footage secret. Of course, there actually is a reason, and it’s to prevent people from finding out what actually happened that day. One person who is glad that McCarthy has actually kept his word is Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said in a tweet the footage will also be available to January 6 defendants. “Americans deserve to see the truth, not a one sided narrative and unfair two tiered justice system,” she said in another tweet.
Of course none of the other members of the committee are happy with this.
Meanwhile, another Democratic member of the January 6 Committee, Maryland’s Rep. Jamie Raskin, questioned whether the release of the tapes could become a “roadmap” for a 2024 “insurrection.”
Raskin, like all the Democrats insists that what happened was an insurrection. It wasn’t. If it had been, you would have had tens of thousands of people, armed to the teeth heading into the Captol of the dead bodies of any police officer dumb enough to resist. Raskin and all the other scum and villains in Congress would have been stood against a wall and shot or hanged from lamp posts. That is what an insurrection is. Now we will finally see the truth, not some made up story by Pelosi’s Peons.
