Good day all. It’s no secret that the Biden Maladministration is going all out to destroy the United States. One of their primary targets has been the American Energy Sector. The Regime has been using every fake excuse in the book to block developing our own resources, and in many cases, deliberately harming and impoverishing people they claim they want to help.
One such group would be the Navajo people. They are sitting on a large oil reserve just begging to be pumped out. Developing that area would mean high paying jobs for people in desperate need of them, not to mention all the secondary and tertiary financial benefits. Instead of letting the projects go forward, the Biden Regime is going to shut it all down, just like the KeystoneXL Pipeline. Here are the details from Fox News:
The Biden administration is moving forward with a 20-year ban on new oil and gas leasing near an Indigenous cultural site in New Mexico despite stark opposition from Native Americans in the region.
Interior Secretary Deb Haaland finalized the action Friday which bans fossil fuel and mineral leasing within a 10-mile buffer zone around the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in northwestern New Mexico. The ban ultimately amounts to a withdrawal of approximately 336,404 acres of public lands from mineral leasing near the site some Native Americans consider sacred.
“Today marks an important step in fulfilling President Biden’s commitments to Indian Country by protecting Chaco Canyon, a sacred place that holds deep meaning for the Indigenous peoples whose ancestors have called this place home since time immemorial,” Haaland said in a statement.
There is a small problem with this. No one asked the local Navajo about shutting down access to the site.
However, the proposal has been met with fierce opposition from the nearby Navajo Nation, local officials and energy producers.
Gee, ya think? This would have been a financial boon for the locals, Navajo and others.
In 2021, Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer penned a letter to President Biden, warning it would have a “devastating impact” on tribal members who have a financial interest in drilling in the area. And last year, the San Juan County, New Mexico, board of commissioners passed a resolution opposing the DOI administration proposal.
I suspect the reaction from the Biden Maladministration was the standard Progressive Liberal White racist response. “That’s nice, now why don’t you go get some ice cream, stop bothering us with your silly remarks and we’ll get on with helping you. It’s obvious you don’t know what is good for you in any case.”
While DOI stated Friday that the action won’t impact existing leases or production on those leases, opponents of the buffer zone said it would indirectly make Indian-owned allotments worthless.
In their 2021 letter, Nez and Lizer wrote that extracting fossil fuels from existing often requires “horizontal lateral crossing of two to four miles of subsurface” through federal land impacted by a ban.
I am not schooled in how oil drilling works. I believe that what they are talking about is something called Directional or Slant drilling. Instead of drilling straight down, you drill at an angle. I would think that this would avoid causing any disruption to the discussed area since they aren’t setting anything up in the disputed area.
In an effort to reach a compromise, the Navajo Nation endorsed a five-mile buffer zone floated by energy industry stakeholders. However, in a recent 15-1 vote, the Navajo Nation’s resource and development committee passed a resolution stating the tribe would oppose any buffer zone.
“The Chapters recognize the detrimental economic impact to the Navajo allottees should a buffer zone of any size be imposed around Chaco Canyon,” the resolution stated. “If a buffer zone is adopted, the Navajo allottees who rely on the income realized from oil and gas royalties will be pushed into greater poverty.”
According to the “Great White Liberal Gender Neutral Parental Units,” Shut up and do as your told. We all went to collage and we are therefore much smarter than all of you combined. Sacrifices must be made to “Save the planet!” and if you much live in a broken down trailer with no running water, so be it. No go away. I have a dinner to attend where I am being presented with an award on how much I care.”
“Despite her conflicts of interest, Secretary Haaland announced a withdrawal of land around Chaco that threatens the livelihoods of 5,500 Navajos near the park,” Western Energy Alliance President Kathleen Sgamma told Fox News Digital. “She completely ignored the democratic resolutions of the sovereign Navajo Nation whose lands surround the park to put the interests of her tribe, based a hundred miles away, and obstructionist groups first.”
Of course she did. They probably think like she does, if you can call it thinking. As to ignoring the Democratic process, where have you been the last few years? The Biden Maladministration and the Democrat Party have nothing but contempt for the democratic process and always have.
“The decision prevents Navajo property owners from accessing the oil and natural gas resources they own which provide them with their sustenance,” Sgamma added. “Secretary Haaland didn’t even consider the Navajo compromise proposal when conducting the NEPA analysis necessary to support this decision, which leaves her and the Interior Department legally vulnerable.”
Of course she didn’t. You “Little brown people” don’t matter at all to her or anyone else in that corrupt, racist and tyrannical maladministration.
The Western Energy Alliance has previously expressed concern that Haaland is a member of a Puebloan tribe, the Laguna Pueblo, that has advocated for the buffer zone. Haaland’s daughter Somah is a member of the Pueblo Action Alliance, a New Mexico-based environmental and cultural group that has also advocated for the policy.
Bury the lede much there Fox? When Ms. Sgamma mentioned a potential conflict of interest for Haaland, you might have mentioned she was part of another tribe that supported the buffer zone instead of burying it a couple of sections lower.
In its announcement, DOI said Haaland finalized the action after “significant consultation with Tribal Nations.” It also noted that agency officials met with Navajo allotment holders several times in over the last two years.
I reached the opinion some time ago that the Federal Government has taken control of far to much land in the United States, most of it seized from the States under several constitutionally questionable statutes. I am of the opinion that in cases such as this, the time has come to just flat out ignore the Federal Government, take the federal land back and if you think it’s worth it, go after the resources.
I have no doubt that the companies that would do the drilling know how to not damage any actual artifacts and wouldn’t do so knowingly in any case. I think it far more important to provide the means to these people to improve their lives themselves, and in this case it’s working to protect a very small area, looking at restorations if needed once everything is done and shut down. Instead, the Progressive Liberal racist moonbats would rather people starve then let them get ahead.

These drilling companies have to carry out archaeological surveys prior to drilling. This is the only way any archaeological study is ever done in these places due to lack of funds. This decision is not really surprising, is it? I mean FedGov tried to starve out the Navajo back in the late 30s and the had to be saved via a private airlift of supplies organized by “Pappy” Ford (Stagecoach, The Longest Day).
