Good day all. One of the things that has enraged the Democrats and the Biden Maladministration is how the Supreme Court has been ruling in favor of the Constitution and against the Deep State.
For the last year or so, we have seen the Democrats flat out attack and threaten supreme court justices. Several have been trying to pass “Ethics” laws. These have gone nowhere fast. Now the Dementia Patient in Chief has announced that he is going to push “Reforms” on the Supreme Court. Here are the details from Politico:
President Joe Biden plans to unveil a proposal on Monday for dramatically reforming the Supreme Court, two people familiar with the matter told POLITICO. Biden is likely to endorse establishing term limits for justices and an enforceable code of ethics, in an announcement that represents a remarkable shift for a president who had long resisted calls to overhaul the high court.
Good luck with that. The administrative and legislative branches have limited authority of the judicial branch and term limits is not something they can legislate. It requires a constitutional amendment. Of course, the Progressive Liberal Democrats consider the Constitution to be a dead letter so I’m not surprised they’re ignoring it.
He is also expected to push for a constitutional amendment limiting immunity for presidents and certain other officeholders, in a response to the court’s July 1 ruling that presidents are shielded from prosecution for “official acts” during their time in office, in a case brought by former President Donald Trump.
Again, good luck with that. As always, The smooth brained Communists Democrats aren’t thinking long term. If, by some miracle, they got this amendment passed, it will be used against them, (Think Obama charged with murder), and probably far more often then against the Republicans. All this is going to do is provide the Republicans with more ammo to throw at them.
The proposal comes as Biden has grown increasingly critical of the Supreme Court and its decisions, including rulings by its conservative majority that eliminated federal abortion rights, gutted affirmative action in higher education and blocked stricter gun regulations and other priorities of his administration.
In other words, they upheld the Constitution.
Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito have also come under scrutiny over their personal conduct. Thomas failed to disclose lavish gifts and travel, including from wealthy Republican donors.
Alito’s wife flew flags outside of their homes that were associated with the Jan. 6 insurrection and efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
There we go again with the Left’s claim that January 6th was an insurrection. It wasn’t. If it had been, then it would have succeeded and most of these very same Democrats would be dead.
As for Mrs. Alito’s choice in flags she flies? She’s not the one on the Supreme Court. Obviously, the Democrats want her husband to force her to submit to his will. Oh wait! Isn’t that what they are always accusing the Republicans of wanting Democrats to do? Sounds like it’s the Progressive Liberal Democrats who want to create the world of the Handmaid’s Tale.
“I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform, because this is critical to our democracy,” Biden said during an Oval Office address on Wednesday, when he explained his decision to abandon his run for a second term.
What a joke. Mush for Brains Biden was forced out in a flat out coup for several reasons, none of which deals with his mental incompetence. The Donors cut off the Democrat Party unless they forced Biden out. Polls were showing that he was going to lose and loose big. (Potential landslide territory)
Since the Democrats so love “Democracy,” they decided that rather then let the voters choose, they would just tell them who they would be voting for. For Democrats, the word Democracy means something different from what everyone else thinks of it. For them, Democracy is whatever is good for the Democrat elites.
Imposing term limits and an ethics code on the Supreme Court would likely require legislation.
Nope. It will require a constitutional amendment. Appointments to the federal courts are for life unless the judge steps down or is removed through the impeachment process. The same for these so called “Ethics” laws they want to impose. Again, these smooth brained idiots aren’t considering the issues some of their pet justices have. The current divided Congress is not expected to take up the issue before the end of the year. And even if Democrats control both chambers after the election, they’re all but certain to fall short of the 60 Senate seats needed to break a filibuster.
Not to worry. The Democrats intend to end the filibuster as it block them from imposing their will on the proletariat.
A constitutional amendment would face even tougher odds, requiring two-thirds support from both chambers of Congress or from a convention called by two-thirds of the states, as well as the approval of three-fourths of state legislatures.
And that has a zero chance of getting through. There are other things that people consider far more important then passing an amendment to put former presidents in jail for political reasons, starting with term limits for congress. (That could include something for the judicial branch as well) I don’t see the congress looking to impose term limits on themselves now. How about you out there?
But Biden’s endorsement of such major reforms would nevertheless serve as the clearest signal yet that he now shares Democrats’ widespread concern that the court has grown overly partisan at the expense of its credibility with the American people.
Correction. The Supreme Court is now ruling in ways we don’t like, therefore we need to punish them. All these ideas are non-starters and the Democrats know it. What they are doing is showing their complete contempt for the Constitution of the United States and the Rule of law. The Democrat Party is and always has been the party of slavery. They’ve been angry that they had to give up their slaves in 1865 and have been working to get them back ever since.
Originally, it was Black Americans they wanted to put back under the yoke. Now they want pretty much everyone to take a knee to the Democrat Elite. This is why the Biden/Harris/Garland DoJ has been going after not just President Trump, but anyone who dares stand in their way. This garbage is just the latest in a long history of totalitarian arrogance by the Progressive Liberal Democrats. They really have no idea what would happen if they tried to impose this garbage.
