Good day all. As we see the moron class voting for communism, we have an example south of the border that demonstrates that once communists are elected, they only way to get them out is to shoot them.
To really explain all this, we need to go back to Ronald Reagan and the Cold War. Thanks to the abject failure known as Jimmy Carter. Communism was advancing all over the third world, especially in central and south America. One flash point was Nicaragua. Thanks to the stupidity of the Somoza regime, (An idiot soldier thought it was a great idea to execute an American Journalist on camera), the Sandinistas, who were a communist group, were able to take over the country.
When Reagan was elected, his plan was to roll back communism everywhere, including Russia. (Spoiler! He did it) One of the major areas he was going after was Nicaragua. There were a group known as the Contras and Reagan decided to back them. There was a lot more about this and I don’t wish to write a history book. Basically, even then, the Democrats generally opposed the Contras and supported the Sandnistas.
Eventually, there was an actual election and the Sandanistas were run out of office. There was the usual back and forth we’ve come to expect south of the border, with everyone trying to rob everyone else blind. In 2006. Sandanista leader Daniel Ortega was reelected and has managed to win 3 consecutive terms. Now he’s decided that elections are a waste of time. Here are the details from Fox News:
Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega said the Central American country would no longer hold elections, further closing off any potential path for the opposition to challenge the government he leads with his wife, Rosario Murillo.
“There won’t be any more elections here for them to try to seize the government and seize power,” Ortega said.
I can’t say I’m surprised. Ortega has always been a petty little tyrant and a complete fraud. Back in the 80’s, he managed to con the Democrats, who had a fair number of their party in Congress in the pocket of the Soviet Union, convinced that he was a pro-democracy revolutionary bent on bringing down the oligarchs and free the people. Those with any brain cells, which meant almost none of the Democrats, knew this was a load of manure. Now this Ceau?escu wannabe has made it official. The only way he’s giving up power is if he’s dead.
He delivered the remarks Sunday during a speech commemorating the 1979 Sandinista revolution, in which Ortega participated in the overthrow of the U.S.-backed dictatorship of Anastasio Somoza.
The only reason Somoza was overthrown was that moron Jimmy Carter. He cut off all support after one of the national guard soldier blew the head off an American journalist. As soon as Ortega and the Sandinistas were in power, they leapt into the arms of Castro and the Soviet Union. There were even reports that the Soviet union was looking at bringing in nuclear weapons and the planes to deliver them. (Learning nothing from the Cuban Missile Crises. Of course, back then, Jimmy Carter, so it wasn’t a bad bet)
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Ortega’s comment shows his government’s “true authoritarian nature.”
“Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo have abandoned even the pretense of popular consent,” Rubio said in a statement. “The Nicaraguan people have the right to choose their own leaders through democratic elections. The United States calls on the international community to join forces to demonstrate to the Murillo-Ortega dictatorship that it cannot expect to maintain business as usual with other nations when it is thwarting the basic tenets of our democratic hemisphere.”
The Sandinista’s have been rewriting the constitution for years, slowly solidifying they grasp on power. This is just the end game of decades of tyranny by the communist regime. The last election, and I use that term loosely, was no different than what happened in Venezuela.
The Biden administration previously said Ortega illegitimately awarded himself another term following Nicaragua’s disputed 2021 presidential election.
I suspect this was a bit of jealousy on the part of the Biden Maladministration. The Democrats election rigging had to be somewhat more subtle then what the Sandinista’s did.
Authorities arrested presidential candidates, opposition figures, business leaders and journalists ahead of that vote as the government intensified its criminalization of dissent.
Ortega had already effectively eliminated meaningful electoral competition during elections in 2011, 2016 and 2021, Salvador Marenco, coordinator of the Costa Rica-based Nicaragua Nunca Más Human Rights Collective, told Reuters.
Many prominent opposition leaders have been imprisoned, forced into exile or stripped of their Nicaraguan citizenship, while opposition parties and independent civic organizations have lost their legal status.

For anyone who has watched how the Left does things, this is exactly what the Democrats and their new masters, the Democrat Socialists of America, have planned for the United States. If you think I’m just playing paranoid conspiracy theories, I’m just reading what they are actually planning on doing if they manage to somehow take control of the United States.
Now what is going to happen next? There are people saying that President Trump will do something to remove the Ortegas similar to Operation Yoink that removed the Maduros. I don’t see that happening. There were a number of reasons we snatched Maduro that triggered Operation Yoink. One was the drug boats that were coming out of Venezuela that the War Department has been using for target practice.
Another was Maduro’s support of terrorism and criminal activities in the United States. Finally, Oil. I don’t know that Ortega is dealing with the Drug Cartels, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t working with them.
I think we’re probably going to see something similar to what’s happening in Cuba. The Trump Administration has been working to isolate the island and completely collapse the economy. While he’s made noise about sending in troops, no one really wants to. I suspect this is what we’re going to see much the same thing happening with Nicaragua. Basically blocking and isolating Nicaragua from everything. We shall see of course.
