The $1.9 trillion dollar boondoggle being pushed through congress by the Democratic CommuNazis is being claimed by them to be “Help for the little people we care so much about.” Well, to show you just how much they actually care, it seems the snuck in a major tax increase, and it’s aimed at contractors.
The Progressive Liberal Democratic CommuNazis have been moving to crush independent contractors for the last few years. They managed to shove through a law in Kalifornistan that threw 10’s of thousands of people out of work, and they have been looking at doing the same thing nationally. While they figure out how to jam that through, the Progressives decided to make it even harder for the little guy to make in their idea of a “Workers Paradise. Here are the details from the Foundation for Economic Education:
When the economy is struggling to recover from a pandemic and crushing government lockdowns, that’s probably the worst time to impose $1 billion in new annual taxes on the working class. But that’s exactly what a new provision quietly slipped into the Democrats’ sweeping $1.9 trillion COVID legislation would do.
“A last-minute insert by Democrats looking to offset the cost of their coronavirus aid package would send tax collectors into the gig economy, eventually costing Uber and DoorDash drivers, Airbnb hosts and others about $1 billion annually,” Roll Call reports.
Under current tax law, earnings data for gig economy workers only needs to be reported to the IRS once it reaches $20,000. This means that small earners pursuing gig work to supplement their income aren’t hit by crushing federal taxes. However, the Democrats’ provision would nearly eliminate this benchmark, and instead require all income above $600 to be reported to the IRS.
“The stiffer tax burden would be imposed while 10 million Americans are unemployed and more and more have turned to freelance and gig economy work to make ends meet,” Roll Call notes.
This tax hike “adds a significant burden to gig economy and small business workers at the worst possible time,” according to TechNet spokesman Steve Kidera. One tax expert warned Roll Call that many struggling gig economy workers won’t be able to pay the higher taxes, and that IRS penalties “can destroy a person’s life.”
You don’t think that the Progressive Liberal Democrats, aka CommuNazis, give a damn do you? They have been told to destroy the gig economy nationally by the Unions, and by God, (Or By Marx, whatever the case may be), they will do it! Now they are claiming that this is meant to pay for the bill that most people don’t want and won’t benefit from.
If politicians really wanted to reduce the package’s price tag, they could instead start by eliminating the legislation’s countless examples of cronyism and waste. For example, Democrats could cut out the $1 billion their bill allocates for “racial justice” for farmers, the $1.5 million it spends on a bridge in New York that Chuck Schumer wants built, or the $112 million it earmarks for transit projects in California.
Instead, in a move sadly typically for Congress, our elected officials are choosing to pile $1 billion in new annual taxes on the working class rather than eliminate waste and pet projects. This kind of political malpractice and fiscal irresponsibility will continue in Washington, DC until voters finally say enough is enough.
Mr. Polumbo, (The author of the article on Fee), do you really think the swamp dwellers of the Deep State Uniparty care one whit what the American People want? Of course they don’t. Most of them see the taxpayers as their personal piggy banks, to be emptied any time they need money. These scum flat out don’t care and will do whatever they want.
I have no doubt that many people will be caught flat footed next year when the new tax goes into effect. I also won’t be at all surprised if people being victimized by the IRS decide the time has come to take the gloves off and reenact the Boston Tea Party, only instead of tea, it will be IRS workers dumped into the harbor.
I’ve said it before, the Democrats claim they want to short circuit a potential second civil war, yet they are doing everything they can to cause one. Hopefully, this thing will be removed from the bill. If not, I want to know what sleazy scumbag put it in so we can make their lives a living hell, all within the law. Door to door in their districts, especially for those working in the gig economy, letting them know what their “Representatives” have just done to them and offering up better candidates is the way to go.
