CDC restarting discredited anti 2nd Amendment program

Good day all. Back in the 90’s, the Centers for Disease Control was wasting millions of dollars on “Research” on gun violence. The goal, unstated, was to render the 2nd Amendment a dead letter and confiscate all firearms in private hands. This funding was ended in 1996 when the CDC was flat out told to stop by Congress.

However, we now have the Communazis in control of the government, including those pulling Dementia Joe’s strings. President Dementia has always been big on confiscating privately owned firearms. (Of course, he’s also been big on anything that turns the American People back into property of the Ruling Elite. The potential slaves being armed tended to prevent that from happening) Now the CDC is restarting this program. Here are the details from the Daily Wire:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has branched out from issuing COVID-19 recommendations and its director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, now says that the health services agency will be restarting its dormant “gun violence” research program in order to address the “epidemic” of firearm deaths and injuries.

Walensky made the announcement in a sit-down interview with CNN where she noted that, for the first time in “decades,” the CDC will weigh in on the issue of gun control.

Something has to be done about this,” Walensky told CNN. “Now is the time — it’s pedal to the metal time.”

One of the reasons the CDC was ordered to stop this in the first place is that it has nothing to do with diseases and the spread thereof. It was a political move, nothing more. Considering the incompetence shown by the CDC over the last year and a half, they might be better advised to spending their time and resources on fixing their internal problems.

The CDC “saves lives and protects people from health threats,” according to its own mission statement. It says it “works 24/7 to protect America from health, safety and security threats, both foreign and in the U.S. Whether diseases start at home or abroad, are chronic or acute, curable or preventable, human error or deliberate attack, CDC fights disease and supports communities and citizens to do the same.”

I’m sorry, but scumbag criminals who, in most cases, have forfeited their right to own firearms, (Because they’re convicted felons), is not a health issue. It’s a crime problem, and that problem, particularly in places like Chicago, can be laid at the feet of the political party you support unreservedly.

Historically, the CDC has largely been limited to addressing illnesses and pathogenic health threats, advising on health and wellness (most recently, a salmonella warning about prosciutto), and helping Americans prepare for natural disasters.

Which is their job. These are all biological issues. However, the CDC decided that it’s mandate supersedes things like the Constitution of the United States.

Leftists have long argued, however, that the CDC should be involved in researching the causes of “gun violence” and methods of prevention.

Their idea of “Prevention” was nothing less then outright confiscation and the repeal of the 2nd Amendment.

The Dickey Amendment, passed in 1996, prevented the CDC from using government funds to explicitly advocate for gun control, but according to The Atlantic, the CDC’s leadership generally refused to tough the subject of firearm injuries and deaths, fearing “political — and personal — retribution.”

As I just said, the totalitarian thugs currently running the CDC do not believe that the Laws of the land or the Constitution apply to them. They were just slapped down again by the courts for asserting powers they do not have. (The eviction ban)

Walensky, fresh off of updating the agency’s recommendations for mitigating the spread of COVID-19 — back in July, the agency recommended that even individuals vaccinated against the virus wear face masks indoors — now wants to reverse her predecessor’s decision to shy away from the issue of guns.

The scope of the problem is just bigger than we’re even hearing about, and when your heart wrenches every day you turn on the news, you’re only hearing the tip of the iceberg,” Walensky said. “We haven’t spent the time, energy, and frankly the resources to understand this problem because it’s been so divided.”

Generally the word ‘gun,’ for those who are worried about research in this area, is followed by the word ‘control.’ And that’s not what I want to do here. I’m not here about gun control. I’m here about preventing gun violence and gun death,” Walensky said, adding that she was following up on President Joe Biden’s commitment, in this year’s State of the Union-style address to Congress, to consider gun violence as a “public health epidemic.”

Bull. The link in the above quote leads to an article by the National Review. That article reports that public support for gun control has dropped significantly. There are a number of reasons for this, and an “Epidemic of gun violence” isn’t it. As for President Bumbles Dementia’s State of the Union Address, to be honest, I don’t remember it.

However, anything that Dementia Joe says regarding firearms and their use should be ignored. He is the idiot that announced that all people need is a double barreled shotgun, and that you should “Fire off a couple of blasts in the air” to scare off criminals. He also said you should just shoot through the door if someone is trying to break in. (Care to guess how many felony charges doing either of those things would be filed against anyone who followed Dementia Joe’s “Advice?”)

Walensky claimed that her focus on gun violence will involve groups like the National Rifle Association (NRA) and that she plans to focus, at least partially, on gun safety. It is spending roughly $8 million “on 18 research projects to prevent gun-related violence and injuries,” studying whether programs that teach children gun safety cut down on childhood gun deaths, and whether hanging posters with suicide hotline numbers in gun stores reduce gun suicides.

The NRA has some serious internal issues, and won’t have anything to do with the CDC on something like this, nor do they need to. The National Rifle Association has a long history of promoting forearms safety and training, starting with the Eddie Eagle program. (I heartily recommend training programs for children and gun owners, especially new ones. I don’t want the CDC issuing Diktats on training classes or taking them)

My job is to understand and evaluate the problem, to understand the scope of the problem, to understand why this happens and what are the things that can make it better – to research that, to scale that up, to evaluate it and to make sure that we can integrate it into communities,” Walensky said. “We have a lot of work to do in every single one of those areas because we haven’t done a lot of work as a nation in almost any of them.”

Every day we turn on the news and there are more young people dying. I swore to the president and to this country that I would protect your health. This is clearly one of those issues that is harming America’s health,” she told CNN. “Something has to be done about this. 40,000 firearm related deaths a year. 120,000 serious firearm-related injuries per year.”

Let me save a few dollars and tell you, using the favorite terms of the Left, the “Root Causes” for “Gun Violence.” (As opposed to knife violence, hammer violence, car violence and fist violence) It’s called Crime. The number this SCoaMF just put out there includes everything. You have accidents, (Caused by stupidity in most cases), you have defensive use of firearms by both citizens and police, and then you have criminals using guns. Intentional criminal misuse of firearms is up in places like Chicago because the police have been prevented from doing their jobs. In most cases, the guns used are stolen or are otherwise unlawfully obtained by by criminals.

Something you won’t consider in what passes for your idea of “Research” will be how areas that have minimal restriction on law abiding citizens to exercise their right as listed under the 2nd Amendment, (And this is a natural right to have the tools needed to defend yourself, your family and neighbors, your property and your country), have far lower levels of crime.

Why is this? Simple really. Criminals know that citizens do not think like police nor are they trained like police. If a citizen is carrying a gun, they are taught that drawing it is the last resort, and that if you pull it, you had better be ready to use it. Police draw their guns all the time, and they use them to assert authority.

Criminals know that police might hesitate where a citizen won’t. If they go up against an armed citizen, (And many people who carry, do so with the guns concealed), the odds are they will be shot, and since most armed citizens practice a lot more then police, they tend not to miss. You want to solve the problem of violence? Throw violent criminals in jail and stop coddling them. There. Problem solved and it won’t cost the taxpayers millions.

Of course, you wont’ take my suggestions. They make sense, they are easy to determine and don’t involve lots of first class travel, staying at first class hotels, and living like a queen on the Taxpayer’s dime. You screwed up badly with the Panicdemic, (People are not listening to you any longer), and now you want to double down on this? Why don’t you take a nice long walk off a short pier while carrying your luck cinder blocks?
