States run by Republicans listed as most free. States run by Democrats, not so much

Good day all. The one thing the Great Panicdemic of 2020 showed Americans is what states actually believe in freedom and the Constitution. Early on, almost all the states locked down since no one knew anything about the Wuhan Flu. As more was learned, cities and states controlled by the Republicans opened up. Those run by Democrats, not so much.

Now the Cato Institute has put together a list of states ranking them from “Freest” to tyrannical. Surprising no one who pay attention, the states run by the Progressive, Liberal Democratic Communazis are at the bottom. Here are the details from The Blaze:

The Cato Institute released its sixth-annual “Freedom in the 50 States” report this week. The index provides an “updated ranking of the American states on the basis of how their policies promote freedom in the fiscal, regulatory, and personal realms.” The index of freedoms in all 50 states shows that red states dominate the list in the states with the most freedoms, while the blue states with Democratic governors were often at the bottom of the list.

The authors of the study defined freedom as individuals being able to run their own lives and handle their affairs as they see fit, as long as they didn’t intrude on other people. Basically they followed the thinking of scholars such as John Locke, Immanuel Kant and Robert Nozick.

To formulate the “Freedom in the 50 States” index, the Cato Institute looked at three main categories: personal freedoms, fiscal policies, and regulatory policies. There are 230 policy variables, and 25 subcategories such as incarceration, guns, education, marijuana, state taxation, land use freedom, and labor-market freedom.

Thanks to Fauci’s genetically engineered biological warfare agent, Covid-19, and the flat out panic he helped cause, Cato added another section looking into how states acted in response to the Wuhan Flu.

In the “Freedom in the 50 States” index, states with Republican governors notched eight of the 10 most free states. Meanwhile, eight of the states with the worst freedom ratings were led by Democratic governors.

And the Survey Says!

In overall freedom, the top 10 states are:

    1. New Hampshire – Republican Governor
    2. Florida – Republican Governor
    3. Nevada – Democratic Governor
    4. Tennessee – Republican – Governor
    5. South Dakota – Republican Governor
    6. Indiana – Republican Governor
    7. Michigan – Democratic Governor
    8. Georgia – Republican Governor
    9. Arizona – Republican Governor
    10. Idaho – Republican Governor

I question Michigan’s status considering they’re currently stuck with Wretched Gretchen Whitmer, who is in a photo finish with any number of tyrants. The only reason she’s letting up is that the legislature, the courts and the voters have started stripping away her authority. Now for the bottom of the barrel, we have the following states, none of which will surprise you.

The worst 10 states for freedom:

    1. New York – Democratic Governor
    2. Hawaii – Democratic Governor
    3. California – Democratic Governor
    4. New Jersey – Democratic Governor
    5. Oregon – Democratic Governor
    6. Maryland – Republican Governor
    7. Delaware – Democratic Governor
    8. Vermont – Republican Governor
    9. New Mexico – Democratic Governor
    10. Rhode Island – Democratic Governor

Vermont is on this list even though they have a Republican governor as is Maryland’s. This situation differs from Michigan. Wretched Gretchen is a complete dirtbag Democrat and is acting as they all do. Like she is the Queen and she is entitled to rule over the serfs and peons. Vermont’s governor may be technically a Republican, but he makes your average RINO look like a strict constitutionalist.Maryland’s governor is a died in the wool Never Trumper who is firmly in the Bush/Cheney camp of country club Establishment Republicans.

Anger Central is housed in the freest state in the union, New Hampshire. We have a few problems, such as our federal office holders. We also have a state constitution that many people take very seriously, especially two of the articles. Article 2-a is the state version of the 2nd Amendment, and it is even less ambiguous than the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights. It says:

All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.

There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. A few years ago, the state did away with it’s requirement to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. (You could always carry one openly) the permitting process was not onerous, (Fill out a form and pay $10 for 5 years), and many people still get it for the reciprocity agreements with other states. (Massachusetts is not one of them)

The second, and probably the one that makes the progressives really nervous is Article 10, the Right of Revolution.

Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

Years ago, on a forum I belong to, there was a discussion going on regarding the 2nd Amendment and rebelling against the government. One of the people in the debate was a former lawyer who said no government would ever permit it’s citizens to have the right to overthrow them. (I’m paraphrasing here. The back and forth was very detailed)

I hadn’t been part of the discussion. I was just following it to see where it went. The former lawyer did have a tendency to be really arrogant though, (and would get bitch slapped on occasion), and since I knew about Article 10, I simply posted the text and the link to the state constitution with a comment that he was mistaken.

His response was priceless. I’ve never seen someone actually sputter in a text message, but he managed it and went off to read the text himself. He came back and admitted that he was wrong, much to the chortling of others on the forum. I didn’t gloat, much, and just left it at that. However, I have been to protests when the Democrats controlled the state of New Hampshire and started looking to impose their Soviet ideas on the state.

The politicians on both sides of the aisle, especially on the Progressive side, usually start rethinking their ideas when faced with the fact that there are enough people who oppose them, and have the means to do something about it if pushed. Having people show up at the State House armed to the teeth and saying “Hell NO!” to one of their silly ideas usually shuts it down.

Now, on the other hand, you have the State of Decay New York. Under Govno Andrew Flaming Cuomo, he not only locked the state down, his policies killed tens of thousands of elderly people. He then lied about it and continues to do so. He was finally forced to resign, but not for mass murder. It was pawing women without their consent. The new govno, Kathy Hochul, has doubled down in tyranny and is in the process of locking the state down again. New York Moron Mayor Dumbass de Blasio is going even further and is turning New York City into a giant gulag.

In Kalifornistan, Numbnuts Newsom, who managed to keep his seat after being recalled, (Mostly by lying), has decided that he has no intention of giving up the emergency powers he’s seized, and has been extending them. New York is the most unfree state, (The term to use would be police state), with Kalifornistan number three. Both states are basically bankrupt, and have been losing both people and businesses that have decided that they can’t afford to live or operate there any longer.

Sadly for these states, with all the producers leaving, the only people left are the ultra rich who actually tun things and the low end of the economic ladder. (Not quite poor) Also there are the few remaining middle class who, for whatever reason, aren’t able or are unwilling to move out to one of the free states. (To be honest, it does get damn cold up here in New Hampshire in the Winter)

With the midterms looming on the horizon, it’s going to be very interesting to see what happens locally. The state legislatures that are controlled by the Democrats are working overtime to make sure that they aren’t shown the door by the voters. However, thanks to the Panicdemic, people are finally having their eyes opened. Virginia might just be the first shot in a sea change in the Blue states. We shall see of course.
