Good day all. The Progressive Liberal Democrats are starting to understand that no one actually likes them or their policies. The potential result of this will be what happens November 8th. Currently it’s beginning to look like a political massacre for the Liberals. This is now causing a few of them to ask a very difficult yet important question. “Why do we suck?”
There is already a group, many who will be booted from office in a couple of weeks, who have taken to blaming Biden, Pelosi and Schumer. Of course, most of them voted between 96% and 100% of the time with the leadership. Still, getting rid of those abject failures doesn’t answer the question of Why they suck. Politico is now looking into this question:
Twelve days before the election, Democrats have yet to lose the House or Senate, or confront the dire, your-lab-results-are-back-and-the-doctor-needs-to-see-you implications for a progressive agenda. Plenty of prominent party voices, however, believe it’s best to prepare in advance. It is one of the more notable features of the 2022 midterms — the readiness to perform an autopsy on a living patient. Many Democrats believe there is already sufficient evidence to make the question unavoidable: What the hell is our problem?
The Democrats have a whole host of reasons and excuses. Here are a few from those no one listens to anymore.
Too woke, argued former president Barack Obama in a Pod Save America interview with his former aides. Some Democrats are a “buzzkill,” he suggested, by making people “feel as if they are walking on eggshells” that they might say things “the wrong way.”
Correction. ALL Democrats are Buzzkills.
Too timid on the jobs and economy message, warned Sen. Bernie Sanders. “Young people and working people” won’t turn out, he told CNN, without “a strong, pro-worker Democratic position.”
Bernie Sanders is the last one to talk about how to fix the economy. He is a flat out Communist and thinks that the best way to fix the economy involves a 5 year plan to seize the means of production and institute a soviet style system in the United States. He says this while residing in one of his 4 homes.
Too much reliance on abortion-rights positioning, not enough on anti-crime, said James Carville, who believes his 1990s-era political instincts are not as obsolete as a younger generation of liberals believes.
Yeah, his instincts have all but left the building. The only thing he’s ever said that’s still valid is “It’s the economy, Stupid.”
A weak message (and by implication so-so substance) on inflation, pronounced former Sen. Al Franken on his podcast, acknowledging he is “stressed out” by what may happen next month. “Things have not been trending in the right direction of late.”
I disagree. From my point of view, things have been trending in the right direction. We have had almost two years of incompetence, America Last and an administration that has been going after anyone who doesn’t toe the Progressive line, or supports the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump.
These are just some entries in a long roster of here’s-why-we-suck analysis from Democrats, in the closing days before the Nov. 8 election. This kind of told-you-so fretting is common after a disappointing election, or even in not-my-fault, not-for-attribution chatter among operatives beforehand.
Politico has what they think are the reasons why Democrats suck of course.
One, candidates and progressive commentators are describing 2022 as the most important midterm election in generations.
Which it is. We’ve gone from a nation that was respected around the world, an economy that was growing by leaps and bounds and people generally feeling good about things, to…The dead opposite, all in 18 months under the maladministration of the worst president* in American History, Joe Bumbles Dementia Biden.
Someday, perhaps, we will have an election in which people say, “You know, this one is actually not that big a deal — there’s little at stake either way.” Still, this year — with Donald Trump’s past, present and future still looming over all American politics — does genuinely qualify as consequential. Which means the after-election ruminations will similarly be among the most consequential.
Well I see that President Trump is still living rent free in the progressive’s head.
Two, Democrats are genuinely confronting a political moment that for most defies comprehension. As Nancy Pelosi put it in an interview with the New York Times, explaining her against-the-current optimism: “Part of it is, I can’t believe anybody would vote for these people.”
Pelosi is simply channeling the feelings of all Progressive Liberal Democrats. They truly feel that they are the elite and that they know what is best for people, and that most people can’t be trusted to run their own lives. In what passes for her mind, voters should just vote Democrat and then sit down, shut up and do as they’re told.
Going through the article in Political, the author, John F. Harris, promptly goes full Propagandist regarding President Trump, the Republican base and the January 6th committee. He goes on to completely miss what the problem is. It’s the policies stupid. The Democrats have been in the thrall of of either socialism or fascism for over a century.
President Wilson’s flat out tearing up the constitution and imprisoning people who disagreed with him, to Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal which set up the economic problems we’re experiencing today, not to mention the issues with an out of control bureaucracy. Then we have the flat out attempts to overthrow President Trump, which continue to this day.
You also have pedophiles, groomers and other assorted sickos who want to end a parents control of their children’s education and upbringing, up to and including outright mutilation. We also have the basic policy of America Last in everything. These are just a few of the reasons on why Democrats suck, and what I see is not careful reflection and what they need to do to change, but a doubling down and increasing their assaults on everything that is America. This is why the Democrats suck.
