More revelations from the Twitter Files

Good day all. I had intended to write about the latest data drops from the Twitter Files Saturday. However, as the Angry Systems Administrator posted, we were busy trying to rescue all the images that Pinterest appears to have started blocking. We have saved our property, and now it’s on to Parts 2, 3, and 4 of the Twitter Files.

There is a lot of information, and I may break this up into several posts. First, there was the delay of a week between the first report by Matt Tiabbi and the second report by Bari Weiss. We now know this was due to the now former Twitter General Counsel, James Baker, actively blocking the transfer of information to Taibbi and Weiss. Once Elon Musk found out, he had Baker, who is about as dirty as they come, escorted from the building.

The second story in the series was released Friday December 9th by Bari Weiss, In it, Ms. Weiss detailed how Twitter employees built black lists and blocked messages that didn’t meet their progressive approval. Here are some of the details from Fox News:

The second installment of Elon Musk’s so-called “Twitter Files” shed light on the company’s practices of secretly “blacklisting” certain tweets and users.

“A new #TwitterFiles investigation reveals that teams of Twitter employees build blacklists, prevent disfavored tweets from trending, and actively limit the visibility of entire accounts or even trending topics—all in secret, without informing users,” journalist Bari Weiss began her thread on Thursday.

“Twitter once had a mission ‘to give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers.’ Along the way, barriers nevertheless were erected,” Weiss wrote.

Ms. Weiss provided examples of who was blacklisted and why. For instance, one of the victims of Twitter’s policy of censoring people who went against the accepted Progressive Policies was Dr. Jay Bhattacharya. He was and is an opponent of many of the Panicdemic polices, especially the lock-downs that were imposed on Americans. When he tried to post his opinions and his reasoning for them, the messages were blocked and no one could see them.

Another person that was suppressed was Conservative Dan Bongino of the Bongino Report. Dan Bongino was a federal agent, (Secret Service), and part of the security detail of the Greatest President of the 21st Century, Donald Trump. When Matt Drudge either sold the Drudge Report or went insane, Mr. Bongino founded the Bongino Report and basically started eating Drudge’s lunch.

Bongino reacted the revelations, tweeting, “We ALWAYS knew we were a target of the Twitter suppression machine. ALWAYS. Yet liberals insisted it was another ‘conspiracy theory.’ Tonight is vindication, yet I expect no apologies from liberals. They live to abuse power and they’ll make no apologies for doing so.”

Perhaps Mr. Bongino might want to talk with his attorneys regarding what Twitter’s previous management did. There is little doubt that their decision to blacklist him hurt him financially. Of course, the new Twitter management, that would be Elon Musk, is providing people like Mr. Bongino and Dr. Bhattacharya with the information on how and why they were blacklisted. I am not a lawyer, but I would think that they would go after the previous management and employees who initiated the bans.

One Twitter engineer told Weiss, “We control visibility quite a bit. And we control the amplification of your content quite a bit. And normal people do not know how much we do.”

“The group that decided whether to limit the reach of certain users was the Strategic Response Team – Global Escalation Team, or SRT-GET. It often handled up to 200 ‘cases’ a day,” Weiss reported. “But there existed a level beyond official ticketing, beyond the rank-and-file moderators following the company’s policy on paper. That is the ‘Site Integrity Policy, Policy Escalation Support,’ known as ‘SIP-PES.’

“This secret group included Head of Legal, Policy, and Trust (Vijaya Gadde), the Global Head of Trust & Safety (Yoel Roth), subsequent CEOs Jack Dorsey and Parag Agrawal, and others. This is where the biggest, most politically sensitive decisions got made. ‘Think high follower account, controversial,’ another Twitter employee told us. For these ‘there would be no ticket or anything.'” Weiss continued.

This was the group that went after the “Libs of TikTok” and anyone else who wasn’t “Politically correct.” One the worst offenders, and they are all pretty bad, was the head of Trust & Safety, Yoel Roth. He had no problem censoring content that he didn’t agree with politically. He flat out hates President Trump and calls him and anyone who supports him Nazis. He is so blinded by his hatred that he doesn’t see that his actions are exactly what the Nazis did to their opponents.

The Twitter Files continued dropping over the weekend with Part 3 being released by Matt Taibbi and Part 4 by Bari Weiss. What they showed explains why former General Counsel James Baker tried to block the release of information. I’m wondering if Taibbi and Weiss are also working on a book? This story is to massive for just a release on Twitter. We shall see.
